We’re not too far off from Thanksgiving and the flurry of holiday gatherings that will lead us to Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever you celebrate. I got a headstart on the season by snagging, as I mentioned just yesterday, this festive jumpsuit in cheery red. I wish I’d acted faster on the Sachin + Babi top above, now on sale for $197, and also available in cheery coral-red, but it’s already sold out in my size! More picks below:
What to Wear to Thanksgiving Dinner
+A sweater dress feels just right for the occasion. I’m into this one in the ivory or burgundy. Get the look for less with this $28 steal. I love that green color!
+This Jackie O.-esque funnel neck top in the chic-est oversized buffalo check is right up my alley — if your Thanksgivings are more informal, pair with jeans. If you dress up for the occasion, pair with cigarette pants and heels for a very Mad Men-esque look.
+Love this cranberry and navy lace dress ($325) for the occasion. Just the right level of dressiness for my taste.
+Love this pleated midi skirt ($198) with a silk button-down or cashmere crewneck.
+Still, this slightly staid dress ($198) is probably my favorite.
What to Wear to Holiday Cocktail Parties
+This cheery red Goen J. dress (on sale for $393) is sure to turn heads.
+These silk chantung cigarette pants ($198) would look incredible with a glitzy blouse or a chunky knit sweater, depending on the party’s vibe.
+Self-Portrait-esque, but for a fraction of the price. And RED!
+Velvet and asymmetric and by Ulla Johnson. Do I need to say more?
+A splurge to be sure but I am smitten with this opalescent top from Roland Mouret.
+This bow-backed satin top (on sale for $81) would be amazing with a high-waisted skirt or a pair of jeans!
+For those of you with a Revenge Body Situation, this dress…!!!!
Festive Footwear
+Poms are IT for fun holiday footwear, and my top picks are either these velvet kitten heels from Aquazzura ($650) or these wallet-friendly Sam Edelmans ($129).
+For a major statement, these velvet and feather heels from Marion Parke are TDF.
+These Valentinos!!!!
Statement Making Surprises
Drafting off yesterday’s post on trying something new, I’ve got a handful of unexpected treats for you to consider. First: this sheer, floral-appliqued $49 steal of a blouse from H+M. Maybe paired with those J. Crew silk shantung pants ($198) and the Aquazzura pom kitten heels ($650).
Alternately, go full-on lace with this top ($205) and coordinating pants from hot label Ganni! Maybe with the Sam Edelmans?!
P.S. I would wear all of these looks with this chic winter white coat ($160). That, or this amazing fur collar.
Oh my goodness, those little pom pom heels! Thanksgiving is at my house this year so I don’t need to worry about my footwear being sensible…these seem perfect!
OOH la la — so fun! What color?!?!
I love all of these suggestions. I got a beautiful dark floral Ganni dress for Thanksgiving, but need to keep my eye out for a Christmas ensemble. Thanks for the ideas!
OOO! Which Ganni? The one with the purple roses?! SO CHIC. I’m jeal-y furtado over here.
Ahh, I wish! The one I have looks like this, but with a different pattern: http://needsupply.com/womens/brands/ganni/carlton-ruffle-hem-dress.html
My Thanksgivings tend to be pretty caszh (?) so I’m following that theme!
SO CHIC. Love.
