Labor Day Weekend sales are starting to roll in, and I recommend Alice Walk’s promotion on their striped tees (seen above — use code TEES20) as a first pit stop. The softest, springiest cotton with the most perfect drape; Alice Walk really attends to silhouette and fit. I absolutely adore these tees; I have short and long sleeved versions and might spring for a new colorway with this sale.

If the price is still a bit steep, J. Crew Factory has some GREAT colors available in a boxy oversized striped tee — the kind of thing I personally find perfect for layering over athleisure. They are $16/pop! One of each color, please.

But while we’re talking striped tees (and no you can’t have too many): AYR marked down our favorite heavy-weight Early Morning Tee in MAGPIE BLACK (!!!) to $68! This is part of our Magpie uniform! It is a fantastic hybrid between sweatshirt and tee and fills a very different use case than the two striped tees above. The first is more polished and tuckable; the second is more boxy and thin; and this one is the kind of thing you can throw on with jeans at the drop of a hat, can layer over a t-shirt for extra warmth on those first chilly fall mornings, etc.

+At Hotel Lobby, buy a diffuser and get a refill free. Such a good time to stock up. I was not a diffuser person until I traveled to Italy and noticed them used throughout the ultra-luxe and ultra-elegant hotel, Passalacqua on Lake Como. Then I decided I needed to investigate and now I keep this Hotel Lobby one in our bathroom and front hallway. A Magpie taught me a trick: use fewer sticks/reeds than suggested to prevent the smell from being too overly concentrated. With just a handful of the sticks in use, the scent is perfect — light, airy, but definitely perfuming the space.

+A bunch of Juliska Berry + Thread items are on rare sale — these nesting bowls (pretty enough to serve out of!), this cocotte (a gorgeous display item but also chic for serving a fall dip out of), and this tray!

+My current hyperfixation: this Third Love bra. OMGGG where has this been my entire life? It’s so comfortable (wireless) but it has a little bit of padding and lift, which I can use. I feel like a lot of the wirefree bras I’ve tried feel great but either look like a mono-boob beneath a tee OR come up a little too high to work with various necklines and wind up making me feel kind of matronly? I hate that word, but you know what I mean. This one ticks every box. Comfortable, supportive, gives you good (not monoboob) shape, kind of sexy. Oh and it’s on sale!

+Two weeks ago, I took an out-of-the-blue bath. I rarely take a bath, but I wasn’t feeling great, and it was just what the doctor ordered. Now I want to get into more of a rhythm with it, and I have this fancy bath oil on my radar — currently 20% off!

What to Wear Right Now.

Now, a few outfits I’d like to wear to specific activities and gatherings over the next few days, beginning with a leisurely nature walk with my sister (who lives in Brooklyn but is visiting for the weekend!). I’m planning to wear one of my Beyond Yoga sets and noticed this color is on sale plus an extra 25% off (top here), meaning the entire set is under $80. The fit on these leggings is DIVINE. Take your true size. You will live in them. They are like a soft brushed cotton but hold you in perfectly. BTW, while I was pecking this post out, my sister texted to let me know she’d gone the exact nature trail we were planning to walk and found a tick on herself! So I will be dousing with this.
