Weekend Vibes: Edition No. 26

My Latest Score: Wayf Floral Tie Blouse

I’m obsessed with my new Wayf floral blouse ($79), shown above, which looks a lot more like a Rosie Assoulin than the price tag would suggest.  Wayf has some other great, affordable, fashion-forward finds on offer right now, too, like this lace top ($99) and this asymmetric tiered dress ($80).

You’re Sooooo Popular: The Closet Organizer.

The most popular items on Le Blog this week:

+These acrylic shelf dividers ($20 for 2).  I hear ya, ladies.  Organization comes first.  Fall cleaning?

+Gorgeous monogrammed napkins!

+The best packing cubes for an organized suitcase.  I swear by ’em.

+A personalized puzzle for a wee one from a family-run Etsy store.

+One of my latest reads.

+My favorite bedtime/lounge-wear romper.

+Some of you availed yourselves of the amazing Rebecca Taylor sale, because this dress was super popular.

+CHIC striped sweater turtleneck thing.

#Turbothot: Joan Didion’s Blue Nights

I was transfixed by Joan Didion’s achingly moving Blue Nights, a memoir focused on her daughter, who tragically died at a young age after catching a flu that turned into pneumonia that turned into sepsis that turned into a coma.  I had heard that she’d sort of “lost” her signature incisiveness and precision in this book — that her writing was more halting, more groping, less certain, less intact.  I could not disagree more.  I was just as moved and haunted by this work as I was with her The Year of Magical Thinking.  In an NPR interview on the book that I subsequently listened to, she explains that her daughter “had no idea how much we needed her.  I needed her in the sense that she was … simply the center of my life.  I needed someone to take care of.”  I could not relate more to this at once understated and enormous sentiment.  FIVE STARS to this book.

#Shopaholic: The Cold-Shouldered Sweatshirt

+Do you watch RHOC?  My bestie texted me to say that she drank a little too much wine and promptly ordered the sweatshirt ($78) that Meghan King Edmonds ordered on a recent episode, and has been getting tons of compliments on it since!  (Currently 20% off!)  Get the look for even less with this ASOS steal.

+Any end-of-summer weddings or events on your radar?  In case the bold shimmery shininess of this dress isn’t tickling your fancy (#drool), consider the statement-making goodness of Alice McCall.  This dress or this dress = bananas.

+The author of one of my favorite beach reads of all time just released a new twisty-turny mystery thriller: A Stranger in the House.  Added to my ever growing reading list.

+I just mentioned this yesterday, but I think I have to order this Ulla Johnson-esque paisley top to satisfy my inner bohemian.  In the black.  To be worn with distressed denim.

+For those with granite countertops, I really swear by this stuff.  All of the other countertop sprays leave a film!  Their wood spray is also a Godsend for our side tables — and it smells like heaven.

+While we’re shopping at Gap, how on-trend is this top?  Looks like something from the more expensive label SEA.

  1. We are moving into a home with granite countertops and I bought the Method spray so I was scared when I clicked on your link, not sure which spray it would be, only to feel relieved that you said it’s the best one!
