Top Coat.

By: Jen Shoop

Sorry for the lapse on my end — between the cold/flu thing (still lingering, ARG!), my sister’s bachelorette in Miami, and launching our new business, things have been mayhem.  And yet, I still expend a lot of energy thinking about fashion.  So there you go.  Right now, top of mind, are glorious winter coats:

YAS to all three.  Here are my top picks for the winter season:

+I’ve always loved the J. Crew chateau parka, especially in the dusty ginger or dark forest color ($365).  Gorgeous little upscale ski bunny.

+Need a big splash for a black tie moment?  This insane capelette from Erin Fetherston ($595) has my number.  Perfect for a winter bride, n’est-ce-pas?

+Love this classic camel coat — the texture, the lines, the color — and on sale for $178.  So Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.  Pair with trim black trousers and pointy-toed flats with a slicked-back pony and you are SET.

+This fur trim coat (on sale for $679) is beyond.  I love it in both colors, but am leaning towards the ballet pink.

+Statement fur is obv not for everyone, but I’m into it.  This patchwork style ($198) is so right now.  Throw over an all-black-errything look (black skinnies, a black button-down silk blouse, black heels) for a serious punch.

+LOOOOOVE this cherry red statement coat ($228).  The shirttail hem and the funnel collar make it look very high-end.  The perfect winter punch.

+This boucle coat ($378) is everything.  I love the idea of wearing it with mid-wash skinnies and statement flats or loafers.

+A plaid wool toggle coat ($168 — but 40% off today!) is the perfect transitional coat for a East Coast prepster like myself.

+The collar of this camel coat is oh-so-elegant ($298).

+Dying over the oversized 80s-era-ness of this gray midi-length find ($197).

+I can’t get over this coat in the neon coral color (currently on sale for 25% off the $350 price tag).
