As an accompaniment to yesterday’s post — spring shorts for children! This has been the major area of buying for me lately. I recently bought a few pairs from Minnow (some terry and some canvas), a pair from Smockingbird x Julia Amory, and am about to buy some of these from Oso and Me after I was so impressed with the quality of my previous order from them. I almost always pair micro’s shorts with Lacoste polos but I also love the Henry tees from Busy Bees (run on the large size IMO — love the buttons on the shoulder and the quality cannot be beat!) and picked up a few of these pocket tees from J. Crew because the colors were extraordinary. I also wanted to mention that I bought micro a terry polo from Minnow and shortly after discovered these ones from Dillard’s which look very similar and are considerably less expensive. Just added one of those to my cart, along with the matching shorts. Going to be a terry cloth summer! While at Dillard’s, I found these adorable swim trunks! Added those to my cart, too!

Spring Shorts for Girls.
I’ve written about this a lot, but my absolute favorite brand of shorts for mini is CPC. They are pricey but durable and I flat out love the style — a short length and semi-slim-but-not-too-slim fit. Totally classic and adorable. I find so many of the other traditional brands have these enormous balloon-y shorts? That said, J. Crew has a new style out this season that I LOVE — I bought her these in the lilac gingham. I’m also eyeing these in a few solid colors for good everyday camp shorts to pair with Lacoste polos and tees — she has a few of these heart pocket ones from J. Crew and I will be ordering her a few of these from Cat + Jack, which are inexpensive but sweet (also available in toddler sizes — mini had those last year and has now upgraded to big girl sizes!). Last but not least, this adorable shorts set has been in my cart since the moment it was released. I think it has to be mini’s!

I didn’t know that J Crew’s children’s sizing started so small. I am crushed that my baby is big enough for it, but also excited to have someplace else to shop for him!
Yes!! I was also surprised that they start at a 2, and I find the sizes generally run TTS/a tad narrow. They have great basics and I totally exploit their sales on sales situations to stock up on tees in particular! Sometimes you can get them for like $5!
