What shoes are we eyeing and buying this season? The netted and woven styles from the past few seasons are back encore — my Staud Albas (seen above and below) are entering their third season of heavy wear! But good news: if you like the look but are now wondering if it’s worth the investment, I found a fabulous $40 look-for-less here. Easy way to jump on the trend.

Beyond that, just as with spring style more generally this season, details like lace and crochet are ruling supreme. All my top picks below:

MARGAUX WRAP SANDALS // PRADA FLATS // SAM EDELMAN FLATS // TARGET $40 NETTED FLATS (UPGRADE PICK: STAUD) // FREDA SALVADOR TASSEL LOAFERS (USE CODE MAGPIE10) // MARGAUX DEMI FLATS // ALAIA CRISS CROSS FLATS // LOEFFLER RANDALL SANDALS // LACE MARY JANES (LOOK FOR LESS HERE) // BOTTEGA VENETA WOVEN FLATS
Additional details below —
01. Can’t stop thinking about these dreamy Prada crochet flats.
02. Continue to be obsessed with my Freda Salvador citron suede tassel loafers. They go with everything and are exactly what I want to wear with jeans. (Use code MAGPIE10).
03. Per my note above — OMG! These $40 flats are a dead ringer for my favorite netted Stauds from last summer. SO chic with a midi skirt!
04. We all love the Margaux demi; how fab are they in this new “biscotti” suede?
05. If we’re already skipping into sandals, my favorites are these wrap sandals (so elegant on the foot; love the barely-there-ness of them) and these simple Loefflers.
06. I predict we will see a lot of these among the street style set.
07. Chasing that lace trend: these are pretty fabulous. Great look for less (under $100) here.
08. Combining a couple of trends mentioned above: these well-priced knotted flats, which come in several spring-perfect colors.
09. Tory Burch’s “Boaty” loafers are chic chic chic.
10. Glaciar-fresh Cloudmonsters and Techlooms in the most fabulous spring colorways.
11. I think any millennial gal born in the mid-80s will tell you this is a perfect heel. God do I love a pointed toe.
12. You know my thoughts on these sneakers. So fun in that petal pink.
13. If you’re a jellies girl, I’m telling you, these Christopher Esbers have the “it shoe” status this season. I’m also still loving the look of cage jellies like these (look for less here).
14. I’ve mentioned these so many times but these are a shoe that you will reach for 100000000x. I mean, they just go with everything and are the perfect heel height, color, silhouette. I wear them year-round, except for maybe in the dead of winter when I need a true closed toe. But they are so chic paired with spring florals, fall tweeds, and everything in between. Look so good on the leg. VB has a similar pair out this season too.
15. I’ve seen these criss-cross Alaias a few times on street style starlets, and they are pretty trendy but look really gorgeous when the “wrong shoe theory” is applied — i.e., wear the yellow ones with a floaty white Ciao Lucia dress or a billowy white Doen skirt.
16. Another take on the dominant woven/netted trend from J. Crew!
