Polka dots are permanently in vogue — they’re as trendy today as they were in the ’50s. A quick scan of the eye-catching snaps below should affirm this rather bold claim:

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. The eterna-chicness of the polka dot may explain why I’ve already run multiple dot-centric posts on this bloggeroo {see here and here} — it’s the trend that just keeps living. Loving, for example, this sleeveless blouse (Marc by Marc Jacobs, $230, Shopbop) tucked into a full cream skirt ($248, Steven Alan) and accented with a pair of vintage Chanel studs ($940, StyleBop):
I like this with some slightly funky footwear, to sort of fuss it up a bit. This chunky Lanvin sandal caught my eye as just the sort of thing that a chic fashion editor would fold into her classic-leaning wardrobe ($1,250, The Webster):
Seal the deal with the Chloe Marcie ($1,890, Net-A-Porter) and a coin bracelet ($60, Max & Chloe):
Huzzah. (?) For a slightly dressier affair, try this gauzy top ($60, Oasis) with a black gem necklace (great for layering with other pieces — on sale for $30, Max & Chloe) and corresponding earrings (hey, matchy-matchy can work! — $48, Macys) and a full taffeta skirt ($435, Mulberry):
Finish with those Jimmy Choo shoes I’ve been obsessing over ($1,150, Net-A-Porter) and a pin-dot clutch (DVF, $495, Shopbop):
And — for sure — I swipe of orangey-red lipstick (YSL’s #13 — $30, Barney’s):
Or — how about this darling mixed-color dot dress (on sale for $144, TheOutnet) with these black-and-gold button earrings (Yochi, $36, Max & Chloe)?
I’d finish with gold heels (Rupert Sanderson, on sale for $248, Boutique1) and a petaled clutch ($89, Sondra Roberts). I like the way the clutch echoes the frills on the neckline of this dress.
Next, how much do you love the idea of this boxy sweater (on sale for $227, La Garconne) with trim little cafe capri pants ($79, J. Crew) and vintage-looking enorma-studs (Alexis Bittar, on sale for $48, Charm and Chain):
Very Marilyn Monroe. Finish with a polka dot bag (DVF, ~$200, Matches) and these crisp-n-clean Pierre Hardy flats ($645, Net-A-Porter):
I’m also digging the idea of this abstract-dot print ($49, Dorothy Perkins) tucked into a full-skirted leather skirt (Vanessa Bruno Athe, on sale for $203, MyWardrobe) and accented with this dot-effect statement necklace ($570, Nektar de Stagni):
I’d finish with a pop of cobalt in the shape of this heel ($195, Vince Camuto). Ow, ow! And…this dream-worthy vintage Chanel bag ($3,216, Farfetch):
Or — considering trying something a little bolder — usually, I’m the ultimate disciple for matching color-to-color and am scared to fold too many disparate hues into one look, but I think that I could venture out into colorful land by trying this taupe-tangerine-navy blouse (Equipment, $208, Revolve) with a printed skirt (Sea, $288, Barney’s — or get the look for much less with this similar $35 style from Mango):
Very Prada. Finish with a simple nude pump ($139, Nordstrom) and this minimalist clutch ($72, Mode Kungen):
Or, swap out a monochromatic staple in your wardrobe for this dot-print sweater ($24, Old Navy) and a “tangerine tango” gauzy scarf (Chan Luu, $125, Saks):
Finally, any of the looks above would be well-accented by this beyond gorgeous pearl statement ring. Open up the hinged pearl top, and guess what you’ll find? A DIAMOND. I’m serious. D.i.e. (Tasaki, $8,250, The Websterr):
WOWZA.
