I have received a few different inquiries about sources for “special occasion” clothing for minis — Baptisms, birthdays, holidays, etc. You can find some of my favorite picks for holiday dressing here, but I thought I’d also share a few of my other go-to sources for festive wear:
Luli + Me
Luli + Me has absolutely precious pieces, and a lot of them feature adorable satin ribbon detailing. I bought this sky blue bubble for minimagpie’s wardrobe next summer ($80), but I also love this sweet white dress with its pink shoulder ties ($96) — perfect birthday girl material:
Nordstrom has an adorable baby boy one-piece by Luli + Me on sale for $36!
La Coqueta Kids
Probably my favorite luxury children’s wear brand ever. Minimagpie owns a few pieces from this Spanish label and racks up compliment after compliment. They’re unique, beautifully-made, feature the most gorgeous prints and fabrics, and make her look like European royalty, if I don’t say so myself. I like the look of these smocked two-piece sets layered over thick tights (mini owns these) and finished with some of their adorable pram Mary Janes (mini owns a pair in ivory). I also love their sweater two-piece sets — mini has a set like this in a sweet lilac color. The shipping fees are insane, though!
The Beaufort Bonnet Company
I’ve talked a lot about this brand; I love its Southern sensibility, traditional shapes and styles, and the fact that nearly any piece can be monogrammed. (And, who can resist a baby in a bonnet?!) A perfect source for smocked dresses like this one (on sale for $45!) Be sure to check out their sale section, where I consistently score amazing pieces for future seasons, like this sunsuit, already hanging in minimagpie’s wardrobe next summer. (Also, she had one of these — a perfect outfit for coming home from the hospital!)
The Proper Peony
I love the “tulip” bubbles and dresses from this brand — mini owned one in a sweet lemondrop yellow shade when she was wearing a size 3-6 months and I died over her in it. This one is perfect for the holidays.
Cecil and Lou
Not all of the pieces at this monogram-centric baby clothing e-boutique are my style (some almost feel like mini sorority girl clothing?!), but I’ve found some exceptional pieces here. I ordered a personalized holiday dress for mini from here that’s no longer available, but this one ($45) is equally as precious:
A few other favorite sources:
+Feltman Brothers has been around since 1916 and has loads of classic baby pieces for baptisms, birthdays, brises, etc. I love that they carry newborn/preemie sizes, too, because I was dying to doll mini up in something special for Easter but she was so itty bitty at the time, she couldn’t have worn any 0-3 sizes yet!
+Dondolo has beautiful pieces hand-made in Columbia by mothers looking to provide for themselves and their families!
+My favorite sources for smocked dresses are Etsy stores Crimson Carousel (the pictures on the site do NOT do these stunning pieces justice — they are SO well-made and come pristinely pressed) and AnnabelleRose. I have also eyed a few pieces from here, but never ordered!
+PixieLilyBaby always has adorable, retro-esque pieces, like this two-piece set, which looks like something JFK Jr wore.
+This Etsy shop offers monogrammed bonnets for a better price than elsewhere.
+I’ve never bought anything from here, but I just drooled all over my keyboard at all of the stunning pieces from UK-based Alexandros, like this and this.
Such great resources for baby girl clothing — I’m ordering something special for my friend who just gave birth! Love!
YAY! So much fun to shop for other people’s babies!!
First of all…La Coqueta is my #1 favorite! I have had more than one shopping blackout on their website. Jacadi is another staple for me and they often have good sales – their knits are amazing.
Two recommendations to add to your list: (1) http://www.childrensalon.com and (2) this etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/KhuduKids
Children Salon stocks most of the best European brands (check out Early Days for shoes, Rachel Riley, Mebi, Patachou, Babidu, Paz Rodriquez, and Paloma De La O). Shipping is like $15 which is meh, but it arrives quickly. The Etsy store ships from the U.K. and sort of took ages because it’s made to order, but I got my son some of the little corduroy bloomers for fall and they are SO sweet.
HAHA! I laughed out loud at your “shopping blackout” comment. Been there, done that. Had not heard of either of these two sources, but am in love! Those cute little corduroy bubbles from KhuduKids are delicious!!!
