I just finished DVF’s memoir, “The Woman I Wanted to Be.” And I love me some DVF. I love her brand, her personality (so nurturing and strong), her colors, her prints, her wrap dress. That said, the book was in sore need of a good editor and her message of female empowerment was just slightly (…) undermined by the fact that she was continuously letting us know about her extreme wealth and bountiful connections to the wealthy and famous. I mean, yeah, I love her for pushing women to look for opportunities and grow thmeselves, but it’s a leeeeeetle bit of a tough pill to swallow when she’s letting us know that her success story was more or less founded upon a solid network of money and folks in the know.
And still. I love the way that she embraces her femininity. Hers is more of a bold, spunky, woman-on-the-go (and she often talks about the feeling of power and strength she has when she’s “click-clacking” around an airport or office in her high heels), but today I want to showcase the softer femininity that I love so much. And it begins with this absolutely jaw-dropping lace Self-Portrait sundress ($560). What a dreamy rehearsal dinner number!
Accent with tassel earrings (Oscar de la Renta, $425)
I also love this chic silky bomber (OMG…$118); this top (Tibi, $450); this mini bucket bag (Rebecca Minkoff, $275), these sneaks ($425), these Hermes studs ($400); and Miu Miu cat-eyes ($300)
Or, how about this dainty white lace number (live for the sleeves — $125) with a long pearl necklace ($36):
So elegant with this pearl-studded sandals ($160):
Lastly, a few pastel colored lovelies to savor: tassel drops ($45), this Lisa Marie Fernandez bikini ($395) and these gorgeous macaron-hued heels ($298 per pair):
Lastly, is this Issa dress ($900) NOT perfection?!?!?!? I NEED YOU.
