I’ve been thumbing through Amanda Brooks’ Always Pack a Party Dress, and while I can’t say it’s a particularly enlightening or thought-provoking read, I love the underlying fashion ethos: always have something slightly fabulous and unexpected up your sleeve, ready to go for the last-minute occasion.
Also, the pics are pretty fabulous, including the cover of the book, which makes me want to throw on a floral Erdem and head out to some sort of amazing gallery opening. A couple of other floral wonders for your morning fashion breakfast:
So lovely. Some items I am lusting after in the flower power vein:
+Tanya Taylor poppy print dress (on sale for $375);
+DVF shirt dress (on sale for $200);
+Parker Christine dress (on sale for $178);
+MSGM dress (on sale for $475);
+Lover Bloom dress (on sale in pink color for $178);
Not pictured, but compelling: this Loft dress ($79, plus $25 off right now — very Marni-esque), and this Loft dress ($79 — looks just like a classic Tucker shirtdress). Similarly, this ASOS style ($90) has a great, funky print. This maxi ($168) makes me die — the colors are gorgine and soft in the breeziest way. Also love this Helena Quinn ($320) for the same reasons. For something a little subtler, I have worn this off-the-shoulder maxi ($175) probably a dozen times this summer. Love love love.
