If you’re leaning into a festive but not-super-dressy Thanksgiving (or other fall/winter occasion) this year, a couple of looks to make your day feel special (I will be wearing this dress with burgundy velvet heels):
1 // Leather Lady. I love the look of a pair of leather/faux-leather pants in a rich brown color (look for less with these or these) and a cableknit sweater like this or this. Finish with suede pointed toe flats or mules (these are on my lust list, and I also adore these). Alternately, if you prefer a skirt, this $28 style (!) would be unreal with an on-trend knit top. And if it’s a top you’re after, I can’t stop staring at this Tuckernuck beauty (also love this under-$30 Target steal).
2 // Luxe Layers. Swooning over this belted rollneck gilet, layered over a tissue turtleneck with my favorite wide-leg crops.
3 // Big Boots. This sweater is incredible with skinny jeans and these to-die-for over-the-knee boots (currently 40% off!). If the sweater is not your vibe, a chic blazer would be incredible with those boots — I’m currently lusting after one from the label Blaze Milano (this one is on sale; look for less with this or this).
4 // Easy Suede. This puff-sleeved, faux-suede dress is the stuff of dreams. I like the idea of pairing it with these hair slides.
5 // Statement Sweater. Perhaps the simplest route is to zhush up your favorite jeans with a new, punchy sweater. A few favorite recent finds:
THIS MOHAIR SEZANE (ESPECIALLY THE CAMEL HEATHER AND GREEN COLORS)
THIS GUCCI VIBES CARDIGAN (OR THE REAL DEAL HERE)
6 // Corduroy Queen. I am loving the idea of these green cords or these “twig” colored ones with this fantastic sweater.
7 // Dressed-Down Dress. An easy-to-wear, non-restricting dress in a fun print/pattern/texture that does all the hard work — something like an autumnal Hill House nap dress, this Ganni, this velvet tunic, this eyelet tunic in the brown color (ideal with these OTKS), or this $32 Target score.
8 // Peplum Perfection. Love this top — it’s not in a traditional fall palette but it has such great autumnal florals in it. Also love this $66 score in the perfect brown shade.
And a couple of other random last-minute notes/finds for the occasion:
+Will be making this mulled wine recipe for our family stroll around Central Park.
+Will be serving pre-dinner nibbles with these cocktail napkins and these plates for the children.
+Eyeing these poppers — mini would flip!
+My tablescape: this garland, these candle holders, green taper candles, green velvet ribbon. I do not need more linen napkins, but these would be a spectacular finale.
P.S. More Thanksgiving finds here and more wintry textured goodies here.
P.P.S. More statement sweaters here.
P.P.P.S. Amazing holiday ornaments.
Oooh that Ann Taylor faux suede dress! That looks like such a versatile, any occasion (well, fall/winter occasion) piece.
I’m very excited to be wearing this for Thanksgiving: https://www.rebeccataylor.com/watercolor-snake-lurex-ruffle-dress/719968D341.html?dwvar_719968D341_color=MULCOM&cgid=#q=snake&lang=default&start=1
It will just be my husband, daughter, and me at home but I like feeling festive! It comes down to maxi length on me at 5’0″, so it has a more gown-like look — still debating whether to have it hemmed to a midi length so I can more easily move around in flats at home…
OMG – it is GORGEOUS, Mia!! So festive. Love everything about it. xx
