It all started with the discovery of Maison du Soir, a new, high-end sleepwear line. I really will not be able to sit (sleep?) in peace until I own the black and white set pictured immediately below ($175 for top; $155 for bottoms):
So elegant! AND — the sweet owner/genius behind the line has offered all of you Magpies 10% off any purchases with coupon code: NEWFRIENDS.
This discovery led me to look with disgust on my current sleepwear of choice: boxers and the rattiest (but softest) UVA tshirt I snagged from Mr. Magpie. I basically look like a ragamuffin. I might as well have soot smeared on my cheek and a Newsies cap on my head. Point being: time for a mah-jor upgrade. I am love-love-loving Maison du Soir, but some other options to consider:
For the preppy, borrowed-from-the-boys look: a pair of adorable pinstripe pajamas ($98 — monogrammable):
Add some geek chic glasses (Warby Parker, $95 — p.s. this company is ah-mazing; they will ship you several styles so you can try them on at home before committing), a great book (this is one of my all.time.favorites), a sophisticated watch ($225), and a night-cap (glass from Williams Sonoma, $49 for set of 4; $20 for whiskey stones, which Mr. Magpie swears by):
Lovely paired with these monogrammable pinstripe sheets ($169+)
Alternatively, snap up one of these Claridge + King sleep-shirts ($125). I had my monogrammed with my wedding date for an anniversary a few years ago. Love!
Or, if you’re more of a Kate Spade “live colorfully” type, snap up this Equipment pajama set (on super sale for $175 — still pricey, but these are twice as much full price!):
I love it with these cheery Caitlin Wilson pillows ($65+) and this elegant scalloped-trim sheet set (Crane and Canopy, $149+)
And, accessories include the Clarisonic Mia ($125, which many of my friends swear by), a cheery tray (Jayes Studio, $39), and some Essie nailpolishes:
This sunny little set from Stella McCartney ($140 for top; $110 for bottoms) might also deliver just the right dose of cheeriness:
For the more simple, Calvin-Klein-is-my-guru types, these simple, organic cotton sets ($110) might be just the thing:
These make me want to do yoga and then crawl into a bed dressed with a fluffy white down comforter and thousands of pillows while listening to the waves crash on the beach. (Or, you can listen to the Sleep Machine app, a favorite of mine when I cannot sleep.) For those more into pattern play, consider this TDF robe by Marigot Collections ($175) — it has little gray sharks all over it!
(And — check out Marigot’s cute pajama sets with funky prints like seahorses, stars, or crabs — each $80-$105). Layer over this fun pair of printed PJs (Sleepy Jones — $142 for top; $43 for bottoms):
Mix in some great printed bedding (love all of these patterns from ABC Home):
If you’re more on the tomboy side of things, this duo by Zinke looks UBER comfy ($96 for top; $68 for shorts):
Perfect offset with one of these candles (l.o.v.e. the packaging — $55) from Imogene + Willie:
What’s your top pick?! Have a great weekend!
Jen – Thanks for introducing me to Warby Parker! This is exactly what I have been looking for…what a fabulous idea. Great way to get affordable yet cute prescription sunglasses! You are the best!
Marigot is my all time favorite, I have 2 of their sleep shirts and one set of the shirt and shorts, they are adorable and are super comfortable!!
Jen, I almost got the Linwood! They were my other fav pair. But I ended up with the Theo, which I L-O-V-E. If you can get to one of their showrooms, they’re worth the trip — really fun and beautiful spaces. Great post:) xo, Erica (see you soon!)
