Books are a fabulous and relatively inexpensive way to decorate a coffee table, set of shelves, console — and especially a guest bedroom! I mention that because I feel like the guest bedroom is probably the last place you want to position your favorite art and decor (as you see it so infrequently!), but a set of gorgeous books on a dresser or bedside table can really add a lot of interest, and serve as a little spot of entertainment for visiting guests.
Our interior designer is always moving books around in our house when she stops by; they’re a great way to compliment existing colors and textures in a room, or introduce new ones. And a bold pop of typography can really contribute to the tone or vibe of a room! For example, this iconic Architectural Digest book immediately feels crisp and modern to me.

I have the first John Derian out! My kids love to flip through it. I have A Frame For Life by the wonderful Ilse Crawford on a side table in my room and flip through it frequently. My chic friend has the Cabana magazine book out.
Love these — it’s funny you mention your kids flipping through it; my kids really like a handful of ours, too, especially the French dog one. It’s so charming to see my daughter sitting on the couch looking at the pages.
xx
The John Derian ones come as sticker books too! Could be a fun gift for the right kid
