Valenteeeeens.

By: Jen Shoop

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!  I know there’s a sense shared by a number of people that Valentine’s Day is just a “card holiday,” something created by Hallmark and other corporate overlords to encourage you to buy something.  But I say we NEED a holiday some time between Christmas and Memorial Day and will cling on to any ol thing that comes my way.  Mr. Magpie and I have never done anything major for the event, preferring to just share a nice meal…but a little treat is always welcome!  Below, a few droolworthy items to give, receive, or just splurge on yourself.

+I mentioned this last week, but I love that classic Calvin Klein undergarments have come back in, largely thanks to Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber, who have starred in recent campaigns.  #THROWBACK

+This sweet pink monogrammable card case ($65) has been on my radar for a few weeks now, as I am getting tired of shoving cash/cards into my clutches and smaller handbags and having them all float around inside.

+These Jimmy Choos are INSANE (and on sale for $299).  Tragically, sold out in my size.  Sob.

+Love this fun little printed top (Etre Cecile, $59) — I’d wear it with dark-wash denim and a bright red lip.

+Leather catchall ($125).  Great, great gift — the kind of thing you wouldn’t buy for yourself but once you have them, can’t imagine where you put your keys / jewelry / business cards / receipts before.

+These little heart-shaped ring dishes are sweet as can be (on sale for $50).

+These Marysia bikinis are still the cutest things ever.  I snagged a strapless bandeau style in white last summer and am contemplating this asymmetrical red one as well ($143 for top, $143 for bottom).

+If your man is going to blow the budget, this diamond-studded bangle ($1,550) has my full attention.

+My February candle ($67).  Who doesn’t love a luxe candle?!

+Patent bow-toed heels ($248)?!  Precious.

+This sweet pink dress would be the perfect work-to-dinner piece (RedValentino, on sale for $287).

+This motel-style key ring is a cheeky gift ($20 for 3).

+This clutch (on sale for $203) is a pretty cute accent for an evening out.

+This is the comfiest set of pajamas ever ($138).

+I can never have enough pouches ($170 for set), especially monogrammed ones!

+Guys, I’ve finally, finally found the perfect bra (Natori, $28-$68 in certain colors).  Comfortable, flattering, well-made, and available in tons of amazing colors.  Do yourself a favor!

+A fitted sheath dress in fiery red is a fail-proof way to look polished and sexy at the same time (Black Halo, on sale for $207).
