It’s FRIDAY! And I am on my way to the BIG APPLE for a glammed out weekend with my sissy and her BF and Mr. Magpie and it’s going to be so.much.fun. (Can you tell from the run-on that I’m just an eensy bit excited?) In the spirit of this exhilaration, I am too unfocused to provide a streamlined, themed post, and will instead provide a laundry list of items I love today, in a provisional, meaningless arrangement.
First — just call me a wild child, because not only did I experiment with dark nails (Essie’s “Carry On,” $8, Target) earlier this week, but I also snapped up Deborah Lippmann’s glittered Boom Boom Pow color ($20, BeautyBridge):
I know, I’m a lame-o. It took me this.long to step outside the red/pink family. Staying in that sequinned vein, I kind of, desperately, need this topper for festive, less-dressy holiday occasions (Vince, $435, Saks) —
— although — shhh! — managed to find a short-sleeved knock-off (looks much better and non-cropped in person, I promise — $35) for a fraction at H&M, and will wear it over a long-sleeved black turtleneck ($29, J. Crew), with a big statement necklace (still loving this classic J. Crizzle style — $150, J. Crew), black skinnies, and my fiercest tootsies (the Jimmy Choo booties I was obsessed with earlier this season went on sale!!! — $487, Net-A-Porter):
BAM. I’m also seriously obsessing over this new jewelry line I discovered, Pound Jewelry. I am desperately in love with this tribal-inspired statement piece ($225, Pound Jewelry) —
— which serves as a convenient segue into my other obsession of the moment: neon pink. I know, not really news to anyone. But when I saw this ridiculous Balanciaga duffel, the love affair was rekindled. I just…no words ($2,445, Balenciaga):
{Aside: did anyone else have one of those pink ballet bags with their name sewn on the side as a child? I think my mom snagged them at Lillian Vernon for my sisters and I. We always referred to them as “the pink bags” and, no matter how much my father insisted that we “pack light” because we would be responsible for carrying them through the airport, he always wound up carrying about 34 pink bags with Barbies, blankets, and other toys jammed in/dangling out the side. At any rate, love the idea of majorly upgrading from Lillian V. to Balenciaga, but continuing that pink bag tradition.} When I saw the above tote, I was instantly prompted to scurry into my closet to pull out my Kate Spade glittered tootsies ($325, Kate Spade), which have not seen the light of day for far too long. I instantly popped them into my bag for the NY weekend. You never know.
Perfect shoe for a glitzy dinner party — especially if you’re serving with these funky little salad servers (can you imagine?! how perfect for an NYE dinner party?! — $34, Leif Shop):
And even better if you’re sporting this awesome origami-style dress from Jenni Kayne (I have put this into and out of my shopping cart on Shopbop on many a late night — $650, Shopbop) and a pair of glittery studs (Kate Spade, $48, Zappos):
Love. In a maj way. And beneath it all, I’d wear some pretty, BRIGHT little underthings — right now, I want all of Deborah Marquit’s entire collection (some colors are on sale — $55-$110 per pair, Net-A-Porter):
Talk about putting pep in your step. And while going rainbow-colored, I’ve gotta gush about this other sick new line of clutches and bags ($605, Emily Cho). I love these funky little folded clutches — great colors, and what cool texture!
P.S. I spoke briefly with the talented folks over at Emily Cho, and they indicated that if you would like to place order, you should email Rasha Reyn directly at rreyn@emily-cho.com. In a complete gear-shift, I have also been coveting this cozy leopard-print fluffy robe ($49, Victoria’s Secret):
Lovesies. I imagine lighting some new Diptyque candles (check out this supersized version of Baies, my favorite rose-petaled scent — $90, Saks):
I also really.really want their body oil ($78, Saks) and their luxe hand balm ($38, Saks), which I continually check out at Blue Mercury on my lunch breaks. I would just feel so naughty spending that much money on such frou-frou items. I’ve also heard good things about Kiehl’s classic lip balm, and think I may need to snap some up ($9 each, Neiman Marcus):
While thinking of luxe beauty products and boudoir gear, I’ll also gush over these bomb silk pajamas ($268, Journelle), which would make me feel like a balla bombshell, and these awesome customizable sloafers (you can get them monogrammed and can pick the color of the slipper AND the thread stitching! — $120, Eliza B.):
And…scene. I’ll wrap up this hodge-podge post here and wish you a HAPPY WEEKEND! Eeee!
