NEWS FLASH. I snagged these deep-wine-colored, coated jeans from J. Brand on sale for $152, and they showed up and they’re all I dreamed that they would be and much, much more.
Had to share.
I can now happily join the ranks of all other leather-effect-jean-wearing chic peas.
EEEEE. Just turned a new corner in my fashion life. EEEE. And they were on sale! YES. This is what I have in mind, outfit wise. First, ALL BLACK EVERYTHING. Except for the jeans. (Yes, the “all black everything” is a reference to a Kanye line from “Run This Town.” So what if my taste in hip hop is pitifully out of date?) I’d wear my Blythe blouse ($110) with a serious set of gems ($945 — OR get the look for less with this amazing style for only $89), my black fur vesticle (I own the exact style below, by Adrienne Landau — $750 — but you can get the look for less with this TopShop style for $110), and some KILLA pumps ($275):
Very Miranda Kerr, eh?! Love. Finish with this AHMAZING roomy tote from DVF (stopped in my tracks when I saw this — love the shape and play of textures — $545):
Glossy gold accents from jewelry line Vita Fede are the perfect exclamation point. I’m especially smitten with this Omega ring ($198), which has that iconic look that the Cartier love series projects.
For something on the lighter end of the palette, I like the idea of balancing the tough gal look of the leather-effect jeans with a white lace top. I recently snagged this affordable style (also on sale at Shopbop for only $55), but the top below is $47 and I love the polka dot pattern and bell hem. I’d wear this with a crystal bling bling necklace (on SUPER sale for $69, plus 30% off! DO IT.) and some simple metallic flats ($99).
Finish with this yummy caramel colored Pashli ($825) with silver hardware:
For something a bit more street, consider this side-zip sweatshirt (glammed up sweatshirts are all over the place these days, and this one is not too overpriced — $85) beneath a denim jacket ($118 — but 30% off! — I own a Gap classic, available here), and finished with some fierce booties (LOVE these, and they are marked down ridiculously low, to $145!):
Love it finished with this cool textured clutch (very Proenza Schouler, but a fraction of the price — $98). The pop of green is so unexpected and, well, rad.
Jewelry-wise, this look soars with an antique-looking bangle or two from hip line 2 Bandits ($138-$168):
Amazing how one well-timed addition can make ALL the difference in your wardrobe!
