Good morning! And welcome to the new Magpie design! After SO many issues with the technical aspects of Le Blog over the last few months, I finally sorted through them and settled on a new design with some better features. LMK how it’s working for ya!
I saw this gorgiiiine look on the blog Could I Have That and d.i.e.d. Not to be a copycat (though, I am a copycat), but I need to recreate this look STAT. I love the slightly nautical vibe, but mainly love that everything about it is so on-trend and at the same time classic.

A few pieces on my lust-list to help me channel her supah chic vibe:
+These darling bow-topped slides — love them in the gingham ($130)!! (I’ve already swooned over many-a-bow-topped-slide, but these are list topping!)
+The exact linen wrap skirt she’s wearing in the shot above ($198). Get the look for far less ($45!!!) from Gap here. I also love the non-denim version in this chic utilitarian olive green color.
+This denim wrap skirt, on sale for $98, is also on my radar as an option. Or, for those prepsters out there, this striped wrap skirt from J. Crizzle, also $98.
+Love the idea of pairing with a nautical/preppy vibe top, like this gingham asymmetrical lovely. I also love this gingham OTS style from J. Crew ($59).
+And while we’re talking preppy shirts, OMG. This. Must-have. Bows, stripes, and under $70!
+Perhaps inspired by the styling associated with this precious H+M pleated tennis skirt I posted about yesterday (now sold out, BOOO!), why not go all the way with a varsity-style sweater (Frame, on sale for $281)?
+Speaking of all things preppy, I’m trying to finagle a way to justify the purchase of this amazing Johanna Ortiz one-piece. TOO GOOD. It needs to be worn with a straw hat and a goblet of rose.
+Everyone and their mom owns the Cult Gaia wood bag ($128) she’s wearing in the snap above, and, as one of you recently pointed out in the comments on this post, it may read “sooo 2016/2017” in just a few months. But, there’s always this epic lucite version that few will have and everyone will covet.
+FINALLY. In a totally different vein, but inspired by all this preppy goodness, THIS GOWN. What a gorgeous statement for a wedding in Nantucket!
That Halston striped gown is AMAZING. Perfectly easy but so stunning. I seem to have more formal summery events these days (weddings, fundraising events, etc.) and I might just need this in my closet. I’m picturing great sparkly earrings and maybe a slightly oversized tuxedo jacket for those cool early summer nights.
LOVE this image. For some reason I’m also conjuring this romantic vision of myself wearing it barefoot on a beach with a glass of champagne in hand. What?! Suddenly I’m writing a romantic novel??
The color is very light for the links to click on to see the item to shop. LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
AHH! OK, let me see what I can do about that! Thanks for the heads up. xoxo
Love this look!
Thanks, Tasha!! And thanks for being such a loyal reader. xoxo
