Ski Bunny.

By: Jen Shoop

After I saw the STUNNING pictures that the blogger Julia Engel took while visiting the luxury resort Dunton Springs in Colorado, I had the biggest itch to go on a ski trip.

I mean, STUNNING.  She is gorgeous and her styling is amazing and the backdrop is breathtaking and I just need to be there ASAP.  But it just isn’t in the cards for this winter, what with the fact that we’re doing this small thing called launching our own company and this is the kind of trip that requires like a week of free time with no smartphone access.  (You are in the middle of nowhere!)  It sounds delightful and I’m convinced I need to do this next year.  So, here’s my packing list for next winter.  See you there.

First and foremost, my Canada Goose Kensington Parka ($775).  I know, I know, everyone and their mom wears one but it is the ONLY thing that truly keeps the wicked Chicago winter out.  Mr. Magpie gave me one last Christmas in this bright, cheery red color.  I love that — everyone else wears the black one.  Red is so fun.

I’ve sworn by my Sorel Joan of Arctic boots ($170) for the past few winters — they keep everything out and keep your toes nice and toasty — but I LOVE the retro funky styling of a classic Moon Boot ($125).  It’s something straight out of the 60s snow bunny look.  Perfect with these leather ski mittens ($250).

Also pack a cozy intarsia sweater ($200) — though I snagged this affordable cozy Gap style ($49) and it is super chic — snuggly slippers ($39), a great hat ($15) and some outrageous ski pants ($350).

To weather the fierce outdoors, make sure you have a great scrub (GlamGlow, $69) and some intense moisturizer ($30):

Don’t forget your Swiss Miss, marshmallows, and enamel mugs (2 for $36):

If you’re into neons, I am head over heels for this SAM jacket ($295) and these ski goggles (Fendi, $400).  If the goggles are a bit too pricey for your taste, I love my Oakley goggles — and this particular style is so cool.  You’d look legit in them.  Keep lips moisturized with Fresh lip balm ($22.50), and toes toasty with these Sperry boots ($120) are pret-ty awesome with their neon orange piping.
