On Ma Mind.

GUYS.  Some things that are inspiring me in a major way a ce moment:

Pick1In keeping with my new year’s resolution, I’m going out on some fashion limbs.  I have been arduously struggling with the idea of high-waist denim, which have been…errywhere…the past season or two (The Sartorialist was all over this last summer), but it wasn’t until the beautiful Naomi of blog LoveTaza started wearing them that I felt they might be accessible enough for me.  And then I discovered she was wearing this affordable pair from ASOS ($56 — also available in black) and it was a done deal.  Isn’t it beautiful when risky fashion is not accompanied with a big price tag?

Pick2

The beauty line Glossier has been getting ridiculously rave reviews since its launch about a year or two ago — it’s a spinoff line from a super cool blog on cosmetics, haircare, and all things beauty, and it’s helmed by the stunning Emily Weiss (do yourself a favor and follow her on Instagrits).  They just launched a new kit of beauty products that includes a lipstick/lip balm, concealer, and brow wand for $50.  Cool packaging, too, n’est-ce-pas?  And PS — she has a rosewater face spray for $18 that would be a welcome reprieve from my $65 version from Chantecaille.

Pick3I don’t usually go for beach reads, but after attending a female entrepreneurship event in NYC put on by Rent the Runway, I did a little research and found that a former RTR employee had written the book Knockoff loosely based on her experience there and I had to take a peek.  But if you want something with a little more meat to it, did I mention how much I enjoyed #Girlboss?  Next on my list is Leandra Medine’s Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.  She’s the hilarious voice behind the blog Man Repeller.  And to bring everything full circle here: those high-waisted jeans or certainly man repelling, and Leandra Medine happens to be very close friends with Emily Weiss. #MINDBLOWN

Pick4

I know these have been out forever, but I finally found my new spring shoe: the Rockstud in ivory ($745).  I had been eyeing these for like four years as a good staple but it wasn’t until I was in Church last weekend and saw a super chic young mom wearing them that I said, “OK, it’s time.”

Pick5

I’m not one for lounging in yoga gear, but these moto-effect leggings were a MUST (on sale for $77 in black here; also available in chic navy or orange for $110 here).  They look so much higher-end than they cost, and are just plain bad-ass!  They’ve been spotted on Alessandra D’Ambrosio, the Hadid ladies, and pretty little Kendall Jenner (wow — bold girl, wearing white leggings!).

Pick7

The freaking cutest sandals ever ($485) from Alexandra Birman, one of my absolute favorite footwear designers.  (I live in this pair of heeled sandals by Alexandre in the summertime.)

Pick8

This sleeveless khaki vest ($89, plus 40% off today!) is amazing.  I can imagine wearing it in 5000 ways.  In a similar vein, I’m into this linen jacket ($98).  And speaking of linen, I need this sweet dress from J. Crew’s new arrivals (30% off today!)  Also, don’t miss this.
