A bit of Frankenstein post this morning, just leaping around from subject to subject here. On the heels of my post about gentle / bare minimum Mondays, I realized how much I absolutely love my morning skincare regimen, especially on a Monday, when I am very much in slow-down-and-reset mode. What’s in your current regimen? Anything you’re excited about? Here is mine:
+Irene Forte Lemon Toner Spray — addicted, level 10/10. I use in the morning, whenever I need a little refresh/pick-me-up, and after cleansing at night, before moisturizer.
+Dr. Whitney Bowe Vitamin C — vitamin c does something magical to my skin; it’s like turning on the lights. I love this gel formula; easier to apply than a lot of the runnier liquid formats.
+Vintner’s Daughter Botanical Serum — my favorite all-around serum. Smells like heaven, leaves skin deeply hydrated and happy.
+Natura Bisse Diamond Cocoon Tinted Moisturizer with SPF — recently started using this after first discovering NB via this mask/cleanser I’ve been raving about. It’s fabulous. It does everything — hydrates, adds glow and a touch of tint, offers SPF coverage, smells lovely. I will be using this to the very bottom of the barrel.
+Sweed Eyelash Growth Serum (use code JENS20).
+Peter Thomas Roth Undereye Patches — earlier this year, I discovered, after years and years of trying lots of different undereye creams, that the best treatment for my undereye area is to use patches (almost every morning/whenever I can) in lieu of cream. For me, it really helps hydrate the area and brighten. I’m obsessed with the ones from YSE and Jillian Dempsey but they are $$$ to use routinely. (If you do order the JDs, use code JENSHOOP for 15% off for a little price break; if you order from YSE, use code JEN15.) I have been using these PTRs and love the cooling, gel-like feel. A Magpie reader rec’d these less expensive ones that I also ordered and will try next.
I like to apply all of this just out of the shower, while wearing this robe and these clogs, my hair up in Crown Affair’s magical hair towel. I haven’t switched between audiobook and hardcopy in awhile, but right now, I’m toggling between listening to and reading Wuthering Heights, and it is such a treat to listen to while doing my morning skincare / makeup.

The Tory Burch Edit.
Now, onto some great current-season shopping edits.
Tory Burch’s fall collection feels like the true essence of quiet luxury — the kind of polished, sophisticated style that never tries too hard. The palette this season leans into soft neutrals, creamy caramels, and gorgeous olive greens. I can imagine myself wearing these pieces now and in two decades and at any age of my life.

SATIN SHIRTDRESS // KENDRA CARDIGAN // POPLIN SKIRT // LEE RADZIWILL DOUBLE BAG // SMALL ROMY SUEDE CROSSBODY // FIELD SNEAKER
I have a little shelf of TB favorites here, too — I add to it whenever something new comes up!

GAIA DOUBLE BREASTED WOOL COAT // LAUREL SWEATER // AYLA BAGGY JEANS // LUNA BALLET FLATS // PARIS SUNGLASSES

Sezane Winter Edit.
This collection just landed on Sunday and is full of spectacular pieces. If I had to pick one, it would be this belted suede wonder. I love the tie detail at the waist and think this would look beyond fabulous with light-wash or mid-wash or ecru denim and a simple white tee.

Other standouts:

LEOPARD OSCAR CARDIGAN // CHECKED WAISTCOAT // KNIT MIDI // HERRINGBONE SKIRT
Splurgey Self-Care Gift…
Oak Essentials sent me the most thrilling gift: an “Advent Calendar”-style box of their luxe skin and bodycare products, with a couple of surprises from their sister brand, Jenni Kayne, throw in. I opened every compartment right away to see what was included but then put it all back in place and decided I’d let myself open one drawer per day starting in November. It is beautifully packaged and would make such an epic gift for a Jenni Kayne gal in your life — you know the type: the one with that organic, lit-from-within, cozy knit style. Or — treat yourself.

P.S. Fall athletic gear.
P.P.S. What is your ‘house music’?
P.P.P.S. Peak fall feelings.

After hearing about it for years, I finally ordered the essentials set from Adel Natural Cosmetics. Haven’t tried yet as I’m waiting for my current Mad Hippie products to run out. But I noticed Adel recommends dry brushing and a warm washcloth (no soap) in the morning, followed by toner and moisturizer (no serum). I’ve been using a gentle cream cleanser in the morning, but in the past I have tried just rinsing in the morning with no ill effects. Curious to see if there’s a difference when I skip my usual vitamin c in the morning! I can always add back, but wanted to try the set as recommended first. Still on the fence about buying a facial dry brush…I was dry brushing pretty regularly before showers and didn’t notice a difference.
I’m an eye patch gal too! I like Wander Beauty. I actually keep mine in the kitchen fridge and I put them on while I have my coffee.
Love the idea of chilling them, for two reasons: a) keeps in kitchen and close at hand while in morning mode; b) energizing! xx
