Monday Charms + A Big Sale.

By: Jen Shoop

Starting this Monday off with a smattering of charming thoughts:

First, this reel on “having plans” that look like reading a book, holing up at home, pouring coffee, letting the fall air in. Watching was like burrowing into a big blanket.

Second, which lit girl are you in this carousel? (A delightful round up of book-wielding women from cinematic history.) I’m not bold enough to say I am Jo March, but I lean on her energy at all times. (I actually thank her in the acknowledgments in my book…coming out in May 2026!)

Third, some warming and energizing thoughts for the week — reach for whatever feels right!

Closing with the last one because — what poetry can we find in our lives today? It’s all around us! The lay of the morning light, the familiar sounds of the house getting started in the morning, a perfect parallel parking job…!

And just for laughs: no offense to the Barenaked Ladies, but this made me LOL.

Now, a big sale to shop. One of our favorite promotions of the year is here: the Shopbop tiered fall sale. I know many of you fill your carts over the course of September and do a big buy using this promo — 15% off $200; 20% off $500; 25% off $800. My top picks below. I’m mainly tempted by this velvet mini (my future self will thank me around the holidays) and these spectacular boots…that gold hardware detail!

FAUX SUEDE SKIRT // CARA CARA DRESS (THANKSGIVING / FALL FAMILY PHOTOS!) // LESET POINTELLE CARDI // ALC LEATHER SKIRT // SUEDE LOAFERS // THE GREAT CARDIGAN // CITIZENS BARREL LEG CORDUROYS // ELLEME BOOMERANG BAG // VOILE BLANCHE SNEAKERS

L’AGENCE CARDIGAN // AGOLDE REN JEANS // FREDA SALVADOR RAIN-RESISTANT BOOTS // FIGUE DRESS // LOEFFLER RANDALL BOOT // SEA LINEA CARDIGAN // CASHMERE BEANIE // SEA VELVET MINI

And, last but not least, a couple of one-offs I wanted to spotlight:

+Tuckernuck just released these great flared leggings in perfect fall colors — brown, burgundy. I ordered in the brown to try.

+A great patterned fleece (I’ve been sharing a bunch of fab statement fleeces; this one is adorable and under $150).

+The cutest fall coats for girls at Pink Chicken: these fleeces, this puffer!

+I’m flying to Boston this week and wish I had this knit set to wear on the plane!

+The best season for our favorite Relax pajamas.

+I know it’s a bit early but I just ordered this holiday card keeper – what a cute idea! I currently have our past season cards unceremoniously shoved inside an envelope in a bin somewhere.

+This $69 slouchy bag is SO chic. Love the plum and espresso colors.

+Spectacular fall-to-winter blouse.

If anyone else is in the market for a holiday card album, I purchased one from Rag & Bone Bindery last year and I love it! The cover is beautiful, and since it uses photo sleeves you can see the front and back of the cards without needing duplicates. It comes in a variety of colors! https://www.ragandbonebindery.com/collections/christmas-card-album

Another under-$100 patterned fleece that I’m tempted to get in the mini geo pattern:
