Fringe has been everywhere this season, carried out in Western-influenced suede, more refined silks and dramatic patterns at La Double J and Etro, and unique knits and tweeds.

Take, for instance, The Lyons Fringe Jacket at Veronica Beard — a complete outfit-maker with jeans and a tee! I’ve also been getting a lot of mileage out of my Guest in Residence cashmere fringe masterpiece; it has a distinct Western vibe that is softened by the luxe knit fabric. It somehow works with everything; I’ve layered it over ladylike dresses, paired with jeans and a tee, and styled midway between with cords and knit. It can be either a “shacket,” a sweater, or a true jacket. Thanks to a Magpie reader for finding this great look for less (more sizes here). When she shared it with me, I also discovered the ivory fringe knit seen above — which I added to my closet as well. It looks fantastic styled with lighter-wash denim and a white tee and suede flats.
