Lilac Lady

By: Jen Shoop

I’ve mentioned many times in the past my obsession with lavender/lilac.  I think it looks stunning and sophisticated paired with grays, golds, silvers, creams — and have long envisioned decorating a figment-of-my-imagination office space with it.  Do you love…

I was just browsing through some products I’ve been keeping my eye on and noticed that over the past few weeks, I have inadvertently flagged dozens of lilac items.  Lovely.  Let’s get started: an elegant console table ($161 — fantastic price!) in a gray-lilac hue, topped with a stunning Lulie Wallace print ($98 — or get the original for $250 here), a ladylike lamp ($420), and a little white objet (on sale for $30):

This runner seems like a no-brainer alongside ($125 — another great deal!):

Now, does anything at all need to be said of this covetable Chippendale-style chair in sweet lilac ($419)?!  LOVES.  LIVES for it.

Lovely behind a Parson’s desk (this one is on sale for $299) for just the right balance of modern and classic.  Consider adding some happy little foo dogs to the room, preferably in glam gold ($50! A steal!):

Lest things get too girly and monochrome, break things up with an unexpected spotted camelback bench in black-and-white ($1,350), but OFFSET with this great ikat-print lavender pillow ($45):

Worried about mixing the prints?  Don’t be — walk on the wild side!  When you’re dealing with such a sweet color, you can go a bit bolder on things.  And/or take a look at the crazy amazing colorful mixed magic from the genius behind Furbish Studio, which I frequently feature on this blog, including in this post — Jamie Meares.  Her blog I Suwanee will make you rethink the way you imagine mixing things together.  (For example, check out her approaches to styling a coffee table!)  I have also had my eye on some lavender ticking sheets — on sale here for another day from One King’s Lane ($39-$69, depending on bed size), but it’s already sold out in the Queen bed, so I’ve been eying it for full price here ($165+).

Not that you need to coordinate with your sheets, but I’m imagining snuggling up to them in a pair of Marigot printed PJs in the lilac pineapple print ($105):

These would look lovely with our gray/platinum bedding and are just masculine enough that Mr. Magpie might not mind.  Of course, if I had wild liberty to decorate with flowers and pinks, I’d make a beeline for the Fiona bedding from Biscuit home ($250 for sheet set; $65 for pillows):

Of course, this tufted headboard would be the ahhhmazing cherry on top ($2,000):

  1. Have you checked out Shop Hers, the high end consignment store website? Saw it on Le Catch and thought you’d be all over that.
