Today, I am inspired by the classic elegance of Lady Di in her blue blazer above. I love that she took fashion risks, but I am today celebrating the classics she wore with aplomb — a reminder that basics are not boring. A few essential-type pieces that will withstand the test of time and trends:
VERONICA BEARD BLUE BLAZER (LOOK FOR LESS WITH THIS)
CLASSIC STRUCTURED LEATHER TOTE
CHUNKY GOLD EVERYDAY EARRINGS LIKE THESE OR THESE
CLASSIC TRENCH ($148!)
PERFECT BLACK SUEDE KITTEN HEEL PUMP
CASHMERE CREWNECKS OR CARDIGANS (<<ON SUPER SALE)
TORTOISE OR BLACK SHADES (LOOK FOR LESS WITH THESE)
LACOSTE BALLCAP FOR DODGING THE PAPARAZZI, ALONG WITH CLASSIC HEATHER GRAY SWEAT PANTS AND CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT
And if you are on the opposite end of the fashion spectrum (i.e., give me all the ornamentation and embellishment), this post is for you. And also this one, featuring a can’t-miss $60 sparkle dress to see you through NYE at home.
P.S. Easily one of the best books I’ve read this year.
P.P.S. Lilacs and poetics.
This post speaks to me … as much as I love paying homage to a trend, I have always appreciated the classics and find myself gravitating to them more & more as the years tick on. Love the camel coat from REISS in particular! They always have great outerwear.
I also love Diana’s oversized-logo-sweatshirt-and-bike-shorts look! Haha. That’s my shoulder season weekend go-to 🙂

UGH LOVE that look. I’m prob not cool enough to pull it off but have tried to mimic permutations on many occasions. So chic.

Thank you for your fun posts. They brighten my day.
I’ve taken to using your phrase “snack attack,” when I surprise my husband in our home office with a late afternoon treat.
Wishing you and your family all the best. Tenez soin de vous!
Et a vous! Je vous remercie, Karyn! Such a sweet note. So glad to have you here.

While I like to incorporate a few trends here and there, classics are where I feel most myself. We just finished Season 4 of The Crown and it was fun to see some of Princess Di’s iconic looks—the current pilgrim collars, black sheep sweater, and of course the wedding gown!
Yes! We have yet to dive into The Crown but I cannot wait. (We were totally hung up on The Undoing and then a slew of holiday movies for a minute there!)
