Fourthing the Issue.

By: Jen Shoop

Horrible pun in today’s title, but I cain’t quit!  So, today’s post is about being ahead of the game.  So often I find myself scrambling at the last moment to find just the right thing to wear for an event, and I know I’d have much better luck if I’m casually/passively keeping my eyes out for something for the few weeks leading up to an event.  Otherwise, I’m like a wolverine prowling around a store hungrily and angrily settling on something that’s not quite right.  So, let’s start shopping for the fourth today so we’re ahead o’ the curve.  My tippy top picks:

+I’ve featured this before, but how perfect is this linen Madewell dress ($150)?!

+Especially with these speckled sandals (on sale for $89) — kinda look like fireworks, right?!

+This tiered maxi (Dodo Bar Or, $500) is the stuff of dreams.

+You can wear these K. Jacques with anything (and they’re on sale for $155!)

+Cherry embroidered clutch ($125).

+An affordable navy tassel necklace ($25) spruces up any ol thing.

+Prada espadrilles (on sale for $305).

+Or, check out this sweet gingham dress from Mother of Pearl (on sale for $378).

+Striped one-piece (Armani, $175).

+Dr. Scholls for J. Crew ($98).

+Red romper ($398), ideal with these gold mirrored slides ($29).

+Tasseled earrings (KJL, $100).

+And maybe this for some casual front porch sittin and readin?

For outdoor entertaining, I just had to snag these fun little placemats ($10 each).  And serve drinks atop this fun little tray ($48).

Finally, some other dresses worth considering — most of which are around $100 or less:

+How freaking FUN is this striped mini ($73)?!?!  It’s just calling for a good time.

+A simple embroidered mini ($105) in blue and white is so fresh and easy.

+Love this watermelon red embroidered dress (on sale for $99).

+Seersucker + cutouts = sweet and sexy.  $150.  Looks a lot like this more expensive style ($350) I’ve been eyeballin’.

+I feel like this dress (on sale for $90) would really beat the heat.  Lightweight and breezy with the happiest pattern.

+Striped, OTS dress from MDS ($225).

+I already mentioned it in a previous post, but this striped beaut ($65) is going to be on REPEAT in the Magpie summer wardrobe.
