Emerald City

I’ve been drawn to rich emerald green this fall, and am already thinking that it would be a great color for a holiday cocktail party dress.  Consider, for example, this “kimono” mini by Gretchen Jones ($450, Steven Alan) with some sparkly drops ($50, Max & Chloe):

Almost like armor — love.  A little fierceness goes a long way in updating an otherwise frou-frou look.  For work, I’m digging this camel mini ($195, StyleBop) with a deep green collarless blouse (on sale for $49, J. Crew) and a feather necklace (just discovered this line of feathered jewelery by Serefina and I’m obsessed, $78, Shopbop).  I’d top it all off with a quilted leather jacket (now, don’t panic, but I found this at ColdWaterCreek…which has a certain stodgy/old person connotation.  But how amazing is this?! — $300, ColdWaterCreek):
