Embroidered.

I’ve long loved embroidered tops and dresses — there’s this stubborn boho part of me that has been around since I was five, when my father brought me back a white hand-embroidered dress from a trip to Mexico.  We called it my “senorita dress.”  It was gauzy white, off-the-shoulder, and beautiful, colorful blooms embroidered along the neck.  What I’d give to have that dress in my size right now!  More inspiration below:

Lucky for me, this is a major trend of the season.  Some of my top picks:

+This top from Stylekeepers ($150) has sold out like 10 times.  Now available in some fresh new colors for spring.  (And it’s much cheaper than the high end March II line’s versions.)

+An off-the-shoulder dress is JUST the thing for a beach getaway (on sale for $453).  Can’t you just see yourself in it with wet hair and sun-kissed shoulders?!

+These pompommed Aquazzura sandals ($795) are kinda meant to go with the look…

+An embroidered chambray tunic for $44?  Done.

+The Kayu St. Tropez tote ($115) was made for the boho chic spirit.

But PSSSST — two labels you absolutely MUST know about if you’re into this look: Mi Golondrina and Ulla Johnson.  Ulla Johnson is just SLAYING it with the current collection!

I need this dress and this dress IMMEDIATELY.  Here’s one on sale, too!  And I really think I need this sexy pinafore style ASAP.  (Remember, pinafores are in right now.)

Word to the wise: You can also nab the look for less with this Endless Rose style ($78) or this find from Glamourous ($68).  And, I’ve been eyeballing this sweet thing from Free People ($168).

And then there’s Mi Golondrina!  I bought one of their hand-embroidered pieces for my mother for Christmas and she absolutely loved it.  And the founder is an absolute sweetheart — very helpful and so easy to work with when I asked whether they had anything they could get to me in short order (I went to place the order a little too late…)  I love this dress and this top in particular, but would take one of everything if I could.
