For some reason I woke up yesterday wanting to wear a crisp, pristine, white button-down with some classic, dark-wash skinnies. This was an unfortunate fashion revelation because I’m working in D.C. for the week, and my wardrobe lives in Chicago. So instead, I put together this post outlining crisp separates for this heavy-sweater-weather. I love this Proenza Schouler colorblocked number ($695) —
— dreamy, and very Taylor Tomasi-Hill, with these phenom laser-cut sandals (again, Sophia Webster ruling lives — $695)
Not sure if this Jerome Dreyfuss bag ($1,398) isn’t a little too matchy-matchy, but I don’t care…too pretty to care!
For a truly classic look along the lines I woke up imagining, pair a crisp white top ($118) with a funky statement necklace (Ranjana Khan, $438), denim skinnies and ponyhair flats (Matt Bernson, $195):
I’d finish with this bright little thang (DVF, $433):
Lots of street stylin folks have been wearing printed pants lately, and I’m curious about testing the waters. I’d go slow with these relatively unscary Opening Ceremony trousers ($425), a sleeveless white blouse (Joie, $188), a “rosary” necklace (Tory Burch, $225), and pink suede pumps (Zanotti, $495):
Top it off with one of those Illbeca by Jill Gryson bags I swooned over awhile back (great price point — $98):
Now, if the printed pants send you running for the heels, try the inverse. Begin with a clean white canvas of a dress (Thakoon, on sale for $358), offset by a fun gemstone necklace ($40):
Finish with printed pumps (on sale for $139, plus 30% off!):
And top it off with this winning Anya Hindmarch top-handle ($1,780):
LOVE. Crisp. Fresh palette. Into it. Are you surviving the week??
