I cannot believe it, but I’ve actually begun to ponder a fall wardrobe. I want to punch myself for saying that, because last winter was soooooo loooooooong (Chicago, you are so cold.), and I feel like I’ve barely cycled through my summer wardrobe at this point, but…J. Crew has already planted a little seed. So, I need to water that seed. And I’ll begin with a nice transitional look that could be worn into September (I don’t heed the no-white-after-labor-day rule). And it begins with an OMG stunner: I’m smitten with this tunic top ($390). I don’t understand the steepness of the price tag, because if this was closer to the $100 mark, I’d wear it every day of the week and twice on Tuesday. I like it with white jeans, some bronzed drops (Deepa Gurnani, $140), and some simple sandals (great price! — on sale for $49):
And then – this rich-looking leather tote from Phillip Lim ($895):
Yum. That bag is EVERYTHING for fall. I’m also liking some refined denim shorts (Elizabeth + James, $235) with a crisp white button down with some fab detailing (DIE over this — I own it in a different color and wear it all the timesies — $110) and a navy blazer ($198):
Finish with some gold scalloped flats (on super sale for $40! — these remind me of those scalloped Chloe flats that cost $450!):
And, add this splashy Jerome Dreyfuss bag for a big bang ($965):
I’m also living for this felted skirt (love that little scallop detailing! — $98) with a heathered camel sweater ($80) and this statement necklace, which could be worn with virtually anything in your closet ($118):
I like the idea of wearing it in the early fall days with these leopard sandals (HOT tamale! — $120):
Perfect with a structured and unfussy black tote ($169):
Aaand, in closing, let’s daydream that we could afford this $2,800 pleated leather dress from Mulberry. I mean. Can’t you totally see Jen Aniston rocking this out? I’d pair it with this unbelievable find of a necklace ($45?! IN.THE.BAG.):
Finish with some leopard flats (I die. – $945):
And, while we’re going all out, end it with the Givenchy Antigona tote ($1,965):
Great post – and now I’m beyond obsessed with that Mulberry leather dress…How can I justify that purchase??
I’m sort of getting over my Rockstud obsession, but the flats are still “on point”. Especially in black and leopard. I wear leopard flats more than any other shoe in colder weather. And that Givenchy bag is on my shopping bucket list. One day my friend.
I love summer, but I can’t say I’m not looking forward to jeans and slouchy sweaters and blazers oh my!
I hear ya! The Rockstuds may be headed to a (long overdue?) retirement…and yet! They still catch my eye. Good to hear from you, little lady!
