With fashion week approaching quickly, I find myself wondering what the lovely fashion editors will be wearing as they mill about coolly awaiting the next show, looking disingenuously unperturbed by the flock of street photographers. {I wonder whether they plan their getups in advance?! Are they carefully acquiring piece after piece, laying them aside for the dawn of fashion week? Because that’s what I’d be doing…nerd.} My prediction is that we’ll see lots of bold prints {blooms and patterns, from head to toe} and pops of saturated colors like cobalt blue, neon yellow, and, yes, tangerine. To that end, the following represents my dream playlist of outfits for the much-heralded week of sartorial indulgence. First up: continuing the floral print trend I covered in my Blooming post, I’d consider wearing this whimsical floral print dress (on sale for $563, Marni):
I’d wear this of-the-moment look with bold velveteen heels (Giambattista Valli, on SUPER sale for $312, Kirna Zabete):
And THE “It” bag of the season: the PS11 clutch by Proenza Schouler ($975, Ssense) as well as a pair of funky sunnies (Sabre, $100, Zappos):
Or go Miranda Kerr chic {slash follow my styling notes in my “The Primaries” post} with leather shorts ($625, Net-A-Porter), a collarless white blouse (Rachel Zoe, $225, Cusp), and a silken floral topper (on super sale for $17, Dorothy Perkins) —
Couple with a bold pair of red heels ($90, Aldo) — these very much remind me of the Isabel Marant style that was all the rage last year:
And tie it all together with the Alexander Wang Prisma tote ($685, Shopbop):
Or wear the IT color itself, tangerine tango {for more on this color, check out my Darling Clementine post!}, in the form of this lovely Tibi number ($395, Net-A-Porter) with a tribal-inspired necklace (steal!!! — $22, Miss Selfridge’s):
I’d finish with these leopard-print strappy Giuseppe Zanottis (fierce! and on sale for $438 — Forward Forward):
Tie it all together with this pitch-perfect DVF tote ($685, Net-A-Porter):
And this fun little bow cuff ($68, Andrew Hamilton Crawford). Just because.
Or, I’d test out that trendy day-glo yellow color that’s been cropping up all over the place {including in my Stormy Weather post} by pairing this punch-packing necklace ($290, Pure Essentia) with a neutral dress (Theory, $285, Net-A-Porter):
I’d finish with these towering neutral wedges (Chloe, $595, Net-A-Porter) and this adorable neon crossbody (only $27, ASOS):
And, while we’re on the vibrant color vibe, consider pairing red and pink in a true statement look: combine this hot pink peplum top ($280, Acne Studios) with some red skinnies ($79, J. Crew) and a collar necklace ($88, BCBG):
The only thing you need for this bold look? A neutral flat ($228, J. Crew) and a stark white clutch (Reed Krakoff, $590, Net-A-Porter):
What would you wear?!
