The first thing we did when Mr. Magpie emerged from isolation earlier this week was open a bottle of champagne, turn up the volume on Apple’s “Christmas Cocktail Party” playlist, and trim the tree. I think I will always have the coziest memory of that night — we were joyous! It reminded me that I needed to find one last gift for Mr. Magpie: a new ornament. We’ve been giving each other one special ornament each Christmas and it’s always fun to see what we pick for one another.
