Lustlist.

Ten things I’m lusting after RN…

Pick No. 1: The Embroidered Top.

Smitten with this gauzey top from Needle + Thread ($225).  Would look unreal with a floor-length ball skirt.  Also…would we call the color of the second top…khaki-esque?!

Pick No. 2: The Midi Skirt.

I’ve been super into the midi length — so flattering and unexpected.  How fresh?!:

I am going to recreate the look with one of these Madewell skirts, either in the gingham ($98) or the cheery yellow ($98 — yaaaas to marigold) — obsessed with the button detailing!

Pick No. 3: The Suede Loafer.

I’m thinking these suede loafers ($248) would be the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe…several of you have raved about the quality of M. Gemi’s footwear relative to price.  I mean, $248 isn’t exactly pennies, but if it’s the quality of a Manolo or something, I’ll take it!

Pick No. 4: The Custom Silhouette.

Mr. Magpie’s mom had several custom silhouettes made of him at various stages of his childhood, and they are not only adorable but uber chic mixed into a gallery wall.  I found this incredible Etsy store, SilhouetteShop, that will create a silhouette from a photograph for you for a great price ($25+ depending on size).  Also love their custom pet portraits — I think our beloved Tilden needs one.

Pick No. 5: The Heavy-Duty Hair Mask.

I came across a sample of Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime Oil Hair Mask ($26) buried in my sample drawer and decided to give it a whirl, feeling that my hair looks a little worse for the wear right now.  I’M OBSESSED.  I’ve been doling out a little bit during every shower for the past few days and it leaves my hair so unbelievably soft and — even better — straight and manageable, without any greasiness or heaviness, too.  LOVE.  I immediately snagged a full-size version.

Pick No. 6: The Hand Cream.

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but the excessive bottle-and-hand-washing going on in this Magpie Nest has left our hands ridiculously dry and cracked.  My hands are like crinkly pieces of sand paper.  (Sick.)  I keep a tube of this hand cream ($6) on our bedside table — it’s the stuff my manicurist uses and it seriously hydrates.  But I also wanted something easy to apply right by our sink, and had to go with Molton Brown’s gender-neutral rockrose + pine scent ($34).  We already use their hand soaps ($28) in all of our bathrooms (such gorgeous scents, and such high quality soap!), and I’m partial to the rhubarb-rose scent.  BTW, speaking of soap — we use bar soap in the shower, and this Fresh soap is my favorite (great, large size and the most luxurious scent).  But I recently stocked up on Trader Joe’s Ginger-Almond body soap and am OBSESSED.  It has a great, exfoliating texture and a light, clean, non-cloying scent.  AND its only about $2-3!  I bought a ton to keep stocked in our master bathroom and guest baths as well!

Pick No. 7: The Pom-Pommed Sweatshirt.

Is this not the cutest sweatshirt ($59) ever?  I want to wear it all.the.time., and I love the way it’s styled here, over a button-down.  And, yes, khaki shorts.

Pick No. 8: The Pastel Spring Dress.

I’ve featured a lot of Easter/Spring dress options already, but — let this $62 beauty enter the race!  What a steal, and looks JUST like a Self-Portrait.

AND speaking of affordable spring dresses, I’m kind of obsessed with this white midi dress ($68) — so sexy in a Jennifer-Grey-in-Dirty-Dancing-kind-of-way.

Pick No. 9: The Affordable Evening Clutch.

Several of you have written to me asking for an affordable, evening-appropriate clutch.  I hear ya — we can’t all afford Bottega Veneta and Oscar de la Renta.  This $135 Inge Christopher style wins my vote.  It looks super Chanel-esque, and I love that oversized ball clasp!

Pick No. 10: The Denim Romper.

I don’t know about you, but I want to live in this easy little $59 romper this summer.
