What’s Good.

You know, with all of the stress/exhaustion/intensity I’ve been experiencing lately, I occasionally find myself feeling sorta wistful and self-indulgent (ew ^ nth degree).  You probably got a whiff of it in Monday’s blog post, actually.  I mean, Magpie, get a hold of yourself!  You have so much to be grateful for: loving husband, supportive family, good health, inspiring work, no boss (amen, right? — working for myself is pret-ty awesome), beautiful house, loving blog readers…and the list goes.  So hold up and check yourself. And that’s come to be my new daily practice: on my walks with our pup, Tilden, I literally count my blessings.  If this sounds hippie to you, well — it probably is. But as I age, I believe more and more in the power of mindfulness.  A good attitude is the difference between a disaster and an adventure, as the saying goes.  So there.

And also, and semi-related, here are 10 things that are on my good list this week.

I’m obsessed with the packaging of beauty line Herbivore.  And this coco rose body scrub sounds heavenly ($36).  As does this lip balm ($18).

For mother’s day, I snagged my beautiful magpie mother gorgeous Italian placemats from La Gallina Matta ($28 each).

This frothy white dress ($158) is just the sort of thing I like to throw on for Sunday evening dinners.  Especially with these simple brown leather sandals (only $26!!!).  Other LWDs worth a second or third look: this (timeless!), this (so sweet! and affordable!), and this.  Also, this — only $58!

And tie it all together with these tassels ($36).

I’ve been wanting an evening clutch for a long time, and am currently eyeballing either a classic YSL clutch ($1,150) in blush or this flashy gold Gucci style ($850).

How cool is this rope lariat ($42)?!  Love affordable statement jewelry like this to punch up a white blouse.

These soft Eberjey rompers ($97) are my absolute favorite things on the planet.  I love to throw one on while blow-drying my hair / getting ready for a night out.  So comfortable and breathable.  Also available in a pajama short set.

What chic traveling bags for storing shoes, cables, socks, etc!  Love the old school styling of the monograms.

How stunning are these letterpress business cards ($100) from Etsy seller Tankerville Press?  All the swoons.
