Werk.

I’ve been taking dozens of meetings over the past few months — with customers, with investors, with mentors, with fellow women entrepreneurs — and it’s made me think about upping the ante when it comes to my work wardrobe.  For awhile (partly influenced by Chicago’s winter weather), I was wearing skinny jeans in black or dark wash blue (I still swear by J. Brand), a button-down or blouse (current favorites: this, this, and this — and I’m ecstatic that Tucker relaunched, as I love her blouses, like this one), some sort of heel or boot, and a statement jacket.

But just look at these snaps…and you begin to see why now I’m feeling like a fashion nube when it comes to my working woman wardrobe.

I’m going to upgrade my work wardrobe with several of the following items:

+Denim shirtdress ($138).  Love it with patterned heels.

+Classic polka dotted silk dress ($355) — this will never, ever go out of style and is appropriate for all ages and body types.

+Another great patterned work-appropriate dress ($348).

+Tiered, scalloped skirt ($149). Precious.

+The ruffle on this collared shirt ($68) adds some serious high-fashion interest.  Great with skinny jeans or black capri pants.

+Love this asymmetrical striped suiting top ($40).  Possibly NSFW (not safe for work), but it has me excited about striped suiting nonetheless.  Same goes for this Derek Lam find ($395).

+A classic trench ($138) is an old staple/standby in any work wardrobe.

+The geometric pattern and fit-and-flare styling of this dress make for a sophisticated look ($98).

+Speaking of trench — this trench-style dress ($149) is hella chic.

+Get the lace-up shoe look in a great basic color, and at a great price, with these ($138).  (I own these Aquazzuras and loveeee them.)

+All I can say about this navy lace cut-out dress ($149) is….WOW.

+Consider a new work tote — I love my Cuyana ($195).  Sturdy, great leather.  Also have my eye on this.

+I know I featured this before, BUT this buffalo check shirtdress ($138) is such a powerful pop of pattern, while also looking professional and feminine.

+This blush shirt dress ($318) is high on my lust list for spring.

+Spiffy new spring flats ($229).

+Love this denim tie-neck blouse ($68).

+Love this shirtdress in the army green (on sale for $108).  I’d spiff it up with leopard or python print flats.

+This silk scarf ($59) would look great thrown around your neck with a crisp oxford and tortoise shell accessories.
