My Latest Score: Fresh SUGAR Lip in Petal
How often do you actually fully use your cosmetics, to the point that you throw away a completely empty container? The shameful answer for this little Magpie is: not very often. Fresh’s Sugar Lip balms ($24) are one exception — I just threw away two tubes I’d used down to the very end and decided to branch out from my typical “Rose” color to try “Petal.” As with Rose, it glides on like a dream and imparts a semi-sheer, natural, dewy-looking hue. I’m obsessed. I typically wear Nars’ Roman Holiday on the regular for a little natural-looking, easy-to-apply lip color, but this has become my day-to-day go-to.
You’re Sooooo Popular: The Ganni Dress.
The most popular items on Le Blog this week:
+Funnily enough, this pretty cookbook stand ($16). I guess a lot of you are cookbook-a-holics / cooking enthusiasts like myself!
+This ridiculously chic fit-and-flare dress (on sale for $78) by my new favorite label, Ganni. (AHEM.)
+These pretty monogrammed napkins ($12). P.S — Don’t forget that there are some amazing coupon codes for several of the monogrammed beauties I featured earlier this week.
+One of my favorite books for minimagpie ($8).
+The chicest tweed jacket for fall ($198).
+My favorite edgy-but-chic leggings — a perennial favorite ($110).
+The best spoon for feeding a baby ($15 for 2). And more great baby feeding gear here.
+The cutest personalized puzzle ($29) — great gift for friends with kids!
+ALSO, ICYMI, my Tory Burch Tatiana pearl slides are now ON SALE at Bloomie’s! (The ones Gal Meets Glam is wearing in the snap above.)
#Turbothot.
This week, I can’t think about anything except for the disgrace of what happened in Charlottesville. I am confounded.
It also feels that words are not enough — not the right tool — in the face of this tragedy. A written polemic seems an almost lazy, improper, and even vain curtsy in a scenario that requires more efficacy and exertion. Instead, I’ll share a blogpost by Reading My Tea Leaves for those of us with young children: small ways to try to make a difference on a local, familial level.
Shopaholic: The Ulla Johnson Lookalike.
+This $110 dress is very Ulla Johnson, at a fraction of the price.
+I already own these (now on sale for $245!!!), and I’m dying over all these pearl-encrusted beauties, but how outlandish would it be for me to slip into a pair of these, too?!
+My leading candidate for holiday parties.
+I’ll be needing this striped beauty ($55), thankyouverymuch.
+Love a chunky cableknit in a neutral — imagine this ($95) with white skinnies for those transition-to-fall days! (More classic wardrobe essentials.)
+Love the Scandi style of this little saucepan ($42).
+Traveling soon? This set of clear pouches ($49) made my life SO MUCH EASIER on my last trip with mini in tow — it helped me keep Mr. Magpie’s clothing separate from mine separate from the baby gear, and everything was such much easier to access!
+Has anyone used Smith + Cult nail polish before? I’m digging this mauve-y lavender color (Fauntleroy).
