Wedding Guest Wardrobe.

I’m attending a wedding in D.C. in two weeks or so and I’m excited to get dolled up for several different events.  Kinda like how I was super stoked to get dressed up for my bestie’s visit to Chicago a weekend or two ago.  I thought I’d share my wardrobe plans for the weekend…

The Bridal Luncheon

I am obsessed with Saloni, and have this gorgeous and sophisticated navy dress (now on sale for $285 — DAMN, wish I’d gotten it on sale…) in mind, paired with my Vanessa Mooney tassels ($45), my go-to heeled sandals ($595), and a punchy clutch ($82).

P.S. — Even though mini won’t be attending this event, I have got to admit that I bought her this little sailor dress ($32) to coordinate with me for some future event.  I have a problem.

The Rehearsal Dinner

I just snagged this splashy pink asymmetric dress from Self-Portrait ($510).  I was seriously contemplating many of the dresses I found in my sale sweep earlier this week, but many of them mysteriously sold out in my size before I could snag them!  GRRR.  This is slightly edgy and avant garde but the pink eyelet material brings it back into the realm of preppy reality.  I was torn between that one and this Self-Portrait one ($595), but was worried the latter would make me look washed out.  The great thing about those Alexandre Birman sandals is that they go with errrything, so I’ll probably wear them to all of the weekend events.  Talk about a heavy hitting shoe!  I’l probably swap out the clutch for something a little more evening-appropriate, like this YSL ($1,245), and finish with a pair of drop earrings ($220).

The Wedding

I’m wearing my Zimmermann Winsome dress ($695) in the coolest shade of golden/yellow.  It’s very Jackie O.  I’ll pair with some more drop earrings ($45 — great price!) and a box clutch ($175).

We’re also getting together with friends and family for a few events, and I’ve got a few dorky mommy and me situations planned…

+Lilly Pulitzer dress for me and coordinating one for mini.  She’ll wear hers with a big white headband bow.  I’ll be in D.C. after all.

+Smocked crab bubble for her ($42) while we have delicious blue crabs with Mr. Magpie’s parents.  I’ll probably wear something easy like this linen shirt dress ($69), which my girlfriend just recommended as a particularly practical and flattering option for those of us getting back into post-baby-body territory.  (Also, good for nursing.)  Thanks, SKK!

OH.  And P.S.  You know how I’ve been posting a lot of bodysuits-with-skirt looks?  Like here and here?  I found another great affordable option for cool bodysuits: Anthro.  Love this scoopneck style ($48) and this one, too ($48).

P.P.S.  Check out Le Shop!  Constantly adding great new pieces!
