Try Something New.

Ladies.  Sometimes you need a little nudge to get yourself out of a fashion rut and try something new.

Here is your excuse.

Three new styles that you may have been shy to adopt/explore.

The romper.  So many of my gal pals have hesitated/been intimidated by this trendy shape.  The key is to pick something elegant and neutral that you can then accessorize to perfection.  Case in point:

This eyelet romper is TDF (Giamba, $975).

Or, check out this similar style available at a fraction of the cost from a very hot new designer on the scene.  I also love (!) this elegant variation.

Off-the-shoulder is MAH-JOR for this summer.  It feels retro and fresh at the same time.  Brigitte Bardot meets Alexa Chung.

Tibi nails the look in fresh poplin ($225) below:

…but just think about the options here: this eyelet wonder from Rebecca Minkoff ($198) — or the dress counterpart ($298); this fun, inexpensive Aztec style ($62); an affordable lace style ($52); this precious daffodil-hued babydoll ($300); the most gorgeous, ladylike, romantic dress ever (DVF, $468); and a high-fashion-inspired top ($150).  Lastly, I just snagged this gorgeous lovely ($175), though I also seriously contemplated this printed style ($163).

I’ve been skeptical of the Birkenstock trend, but am coming around to a more refined style that borrows heavily from the Birkenstock vibe.

I mean, how can you not be curious after seeing the above?!  The Loeffler Randall Paz style (on sale for $122 in certain colors here, other colors for $99 here) may have bumped up a few notches on my lust list.

I’d also contemplate the J. Crew Malta ($78); this Target pair ($26 — which a chic friend of mine just snagged!); or this style from Kaanas ($79).
