The Plastics

The title of this post may call to mind the universe’s most exclusive high school clique ever, commandeered by the one and only Regina George, BUT this is not an homage to “Mean Girls,” great movie that it is.  (Also, an interesting pre-apocalyptic study in Lindsay Lohan, as it was the last decent thing she worked on before she unraveled.  It’s sort of sad in that respect.  She was so cute, so promising!  And then…)  This post is really about a ridiculous raincoat (Valentino, $755) that I found thanks to bloggerina Natalie Merrilyn (thanks, darlin!)

Part whimsy, part insane, and mainly just awesome eye candy for this Thursday.  It’s almost looks like a jellyfish.  High-contrast, high-fashion.  And goes hand in hand with Sophia Webster’s latest collection, which includes these puppies ($395):

Oh, polka dots + PVC.  Who knew you’d make such a fetching combo.  In keeping with this plastic/Barbie-esque theme, how about this interestingly-structured-and-textured top (Balenciaga, $595) with the raddest shades ever (I need these — $18), a lucite necklace (Wendy Mink, $222), lighter-wash jeans, and black-and-clear flats ($55)

Next: tell me you don’t love this loud-and-proud Sass + Bide dress ($620) — umm hello Miami.  Yes.

Perfect (per.fect.) with these Manolos ($645) and this structured box clutch (CC Skye, $275)…ruling lives with this look!

Or, how about this border stripe dress (Raoul, $454) — love, love, love. — with a crystal statement necklace ($95)?

Love it with these slick heels (Gianvito Rossi, $625):

And — finish with this splashy clutch (DVF, $348):

Finally, this printed/sequinned skirt ($475) with a white blouse and statement necklace ($40):

Finish with the Manolo “Audi” ($775)

Maybe finish with one or two Alexis Bittar bangles ($275/each):

FRESH.
