Ladies, ladies. I’ve been throwing a lot of options for your summer wardrobe in your face and have decided to simplify the last few weeks of posts into 10 must-haves. The creme de la creme as to what’s out there for this season — what’s hot + happening. Here we go.
01. THE DRESS.
The IT dress for the season: chambray and OTS. Here’s a lovely one at a good price ($89).
I snagged this comparable from Express of all places ($60) and it’s super cute but a little too voluminous TBH. I like that the above one has a nipped waist.
02. THE SANDAL.
I love these Loeffler Randall-esque sandals ($64). They’ll be as chic with shorts as they will with a maxi. I think I need them in the gold foil.
03. THE ONE-PIECE.
This Marysia one-piece is as good as it gets ($334).
If the price tag is a little hard to swallow, consider this style ($39 — check it in this Lilly Pulitzer-esque print, too!) or this Kate Spade style ($160) or this J. Crew style ($125). Scallops for everyone!
04. THE TOTE.
This monogrammed Kayu tote ($140) is THE accent piece of the season. Everyone’s gone nuts for them. If the wait until October for yours just doesn’t seem tenable, check out these monogrammable bags from Etsy store Mariella Vilar ($135).
05. THE EARRING.
I guarantee you won’t regret the Rebecca de Ravenel Bon Bon earrings ($275). They are SUPER lightweight (I thought they’d be so heavy!) and oh-so-chic. I’ve worn mine a bunch since they arrived. I love dressing up a simple LWD or an OTS chambray top with these shoulder-grazing beauties. Plus, I strongly suspect they are going to go up in price the longer they’re out there. Invest now!
06. THE ‘DRILLE.
Soludos is the name of the game this season, and I think these slightly platformed styles in either leather ($99) or canvas print ($129) are the way to go.
07. THE BIG NIGHT DRESS.
Wedding season has arrived, y’all. I made an investment in this black-tie beauty ($625) from very of-the-moment Self-Portrait. I’d strongly recommend ponying up for a dress that you absolutely love and feel is tres chic right now and then recycling for the season. To my mind, the top brands for summer evening wear are: Self-Portrait (if the one below is too crazy for you, the Azalea dress is major in all its pretty pastels, or this periwinkle statement piece); Zimmermann (this one is my top pick — so sweet!! — but I also love this badboy in its gorgeous pastels); or Rebecca Taylor (this one is sort of the dress of the season).
08. THE SHADES.
I’ll stop venting and obsessing over these Dior So Real shades (on sale for $420) from now on, but these continue to hold the top spot in my lust list.
09. THE TOP.
This Caroline Constas top ($395) is THE snag of the season. This even more dramatic style from the same designer is also high on the list, but if you have to pick one, pick the first one. There are a few lookalikes to consider: this Zara steal ($50), although I wish the hem hung lower; this linen-y cotton top from Madewell ($70); or this J.Crew find ($88).
10. THE EMBROIDERED TUNIC.
Embroidery is where it’s AT this season. Steal yours from Christophe Sauvat (exact style shown below found here), Ulla Johnson (this one and this one are my faves — but lookalikes for less can be found here and here), or Stylekeepers (available in shirt version here).
P.S. I love this, too.
