Marooning

One of my favorite purchases last winter season was a pair of waxed burgundy skinny jeans from J. Brand — they have a leather-like effect but were much more affordable.  I wear them with everything — navy, black, cream, camel, white, blush — and they work.  I’m looking to include more from the maroon/burgundy color family this year.  For example, check out this color-blocked peplum top (Phillip Lim for Target, $35) with these waxed jeans (similar to my own, $228) and the perfect suede pump (Jimmy Choo, $575) — topped off with my dream of a jacket (SHUT.UP. — $2K):

Finish with this adorable python-print crossbody ($321):

Or, can you imagine this leather shift in rich merlot ($700)?!  Dreamy with this tortoise shell necklace ($90):

Slick with these patterned Stuart Weitzmanns ($465 — the exact pair Olivia Palermo recently wore here):

And the Phillip Lim for Target cross-body ($35):

Or, this sweet navy dress ($80) with this amazing statement piece ($298 — if that’s too crazy, check out this more simple necklace in the same color family, which I snagged earlier this season and have worn a lot):

I love it with perfect pumps ($245):

And the original Phillip Lim wonder in a great combo of oxblood and white ($900) and some fab ladylike gloves ($80):

Also into this lace mini ($98) with a bow-front blouse ($98) and this amazing contrast-sleeved boucle jacket ($89):

Finish with Sergio Rossi pumps ($620) —

— and this stunning handbag ($595):

Finally, two stray budget-friendly items that I’ve been loving on — a pair of scalloped, suede flats (on sale for $59), this elegant but affordable leather tote ($130), and for those Sienna Millers / Kate Mosses out there — a great felt hat ($44):

Swoon!
