In Da Bag.

I ran a post on “the last 10 things I bought” a couple months ago and a few of you mentioned that you really enjoyed seeing what I’d bought + loved recently, since I feature so many products on this bloglet.  I thought I’d share my favorite recent purchases–most of them MAJOR budget buys!–and some of which have been featured on this little blogletta, while others have not yet!

Snag No. 1: The Ultimate Concealer.

At the recommendation of several of you lovely readers in reaction to my beauty refresh plans for 2017, I picked up Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer ($24).  I AM OBSESSED.  It reminds me a bit of Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Enhancer in terms of coverage (both can REALLY disguise under-eye circles), but it goes on a lot smoother and isn’t as pasty.  I’m obsessed!

Snag No. 2: The Makeup Remover.

While on the topic of beauty, I also ordered these Arcona toning beauty pads ($10+), which “cleanse, tone and hydrate, infusing skin with protective antioxidants to leave it glowing and refreshed. Ideal for travel, office and handbag.”  I occasionally find that, even after washing my face (or especially when I don’t have the energy to wash my face…), I am looking for something that will scrub off every last shred of makeup.  These do the trick thanks to the textured side of the pad, and a lot more thoroughly than my old stand-by makeup removing wipes.

Snag No. 3: The Baby Book.

At my baby shower, my mother-in-law presented me with a baby book that Mr. Magpie’s paternal great-grandmother had written about her son.  It was moving to thumb through all of the notes this sweet woman had kept about her son, and it made me realize that I wanted to do the same for #minimagpie.  After searching around for a baby book that wasn’t overly cheesy-looking, I settled on this sweet style ($24).

Snag No. 4: The Spring Perfume.

I know you were all waiting with bated breath, but I finally settled on a perfume for spring: Diptyque’s Olene ($90).  It smells like honeysuckle, and I just feel pretty wearing it.

Snag No. 5: The Coffee Table Book.

I can’t help myself when it comes to pretty coffee table books — I will admit to buying several each year to add to the collection.  This Capri one ($36) was too glamorous to pass up.

I eventually want to snap up the entire related collection, as shown on this well-styled coffee table from the blog Lemon Stripes:

Snag No. 6: The Statement Earrings.

I scored a few pair of great earrings last month, including these Bauble Bar beauties in yellow ($48) and these Lisi Lerch beaded beauties ($68 — I have them in green and gold) (P.S.: more epic statement earrings here), but I also discovered these Marni lookalike earrings for $21 (!!!!) from Etsy store Datka Jewelry, which I think would look AMAZING with my new Zimmermann dress.  Long, shoulder-grazing drop earrings are THE new new in jewelry this season.

Snag No. 7: The Easter Bonnet.

I ordered #minimagpie a baby bonnet for Easter from The Beaufort Bonnet Company ($52) and it is OH so precious and I can’t wait for her to wear it.

Snag No. 8: The Monogrammed Stationery.

I saw these elegant personalized notecards ($30 for set of 20) from the Etsy store Little Postage House and had to have them.  So ladylike, so luxe.

P.S. — How gorgeous are those flowers from one of my dearest girlfriends?!  She had them done up for me at Sprout Home, an amazing florist and garden shop right in my neighborhood, and I am obsessed.

P.P.S.  My addiction to Le Pens is real, y’all.

Snag No. 9: The Latest Read.

I bought a lot of books last month, but the one I was most anxiously awaiting to tear into, after reading a lot of hype around it (see pick #1), was How to Murder Your Life.

Snag No. 10: The Lace-Up Flat.

I mentioned these like a trillion times last month, but I was so thrilled with the quality and style of these $90 Sam Edelman lace-up flats, shown below on the floor of my closet.

P.S. — A couple of other items I also snagged + love:

+A Halo sleepsack ($20) for #minimagpie after a few of you insisted this would be a newborn must.

+These super-soft nursing pajamas ($38) — the design is clever and did I mention that they are INSANELY soft?!  OK, OK, I kinda went nuts in the nightwear category–I guess I’ve been envisioning a lot of time laying in bed with #mini, recovering.  I also got these non-nursing pajamas ($59) just because they were SO freaking cute and this Gap nursing nightgown ($39 — I really wanted it in the floral, but it’s on back-order for a few months, so I am trying the pin dot one first; if I like it enough, I’ll order the floral, too!).

+Thanks to Gigi Hadid, a Metallica tank ($15).

+More of Korres’ nighttime facial cream ($48).  I can’t live without it.
