I Want.

A mish-mash of trends I’m seeing I’m loving…

I attended an event recently for work and a lovely lady at my table was wearing a white cape blazer with a slick high bun.  She looked SO fierce and chic and, much to my delight, I overheard her mention that the cape-blazer was a steal from Target! Unfortunately, it’s already sold out, but I found a few other similar options.  My top pick is this $68 steal!  I’m so torn between going stark white or getting the classic black.  I tell you, this girl was ROCKING her white blazer.  James Jeans has a higher-end version for $290 here.  Love how you can dress this up or down, as demonstrated so gorgeously by these two babes:

Hi-tops and sneakers were all the rage in street style a few years ago.  I never fully warmed to the trend…until just the other day, while grabbing coffee, I saw the CHIC-EST young mom wearing black suede hi-tops with black distressed denim and she just looked amazing.  More inspo:

I was such a creeper and spent awhile trying to track down the style she was wearing.  I should have just asked her!  But I’m pretty sure they were these Vince badboys ($295 — PS Shopbop is having its annual 25% off EVERYTHING sale right now, so snap to it my fronds!)  These are in my shopping cart right now.  Also considering these $350 Rag + Bones (on sale in limited sizes here for $192!)  Hint: JLaw was spotted in those Rag + Bones!  #CHIC.

HOLD THE PHONE.  WHAT THE WHAT.  I am so obsessed with this boxy little bag from Mayra Fedane ($985 — but use the Shopbop code for 30% off!!!)  I’d never heard of the label before but this bag stopped me in my tracks.  Kind of like a Mark Cross with a little more funk and color.  HOLY.

Speaking of capes…check out this epic knit sweater cape situation ($74).

These chic suede tasseled sandals are on sale for $59!  Yes please!

OK, so maybe this post should have been an ode to capes in all its formulations.  But I also have been seeing a lot of chic cape dresses this season.  Examples for inspo:

Valentino is sort of THE gold standard in this style — check out this wool number or this white crepe mini.  Wowwweeee.  Can you imagine the latter on a New York bride for her reception / getaway dress?  With huge blingy earrings?  I DIE.  For those of us in the real world, I love this navy steal (on sale for $73) or this Target find ($60).

This black grid lace top ($90) is SO Self-Portrait-esque…but much more affordable.  Perfect for a date night with a bold red lip and some great booties.

OK, I think I have a problem.  I went from never wearing lipstick a few years ago to being a lipstick junkie.  Nars just came out with their velvet lip glides ($26) and I am obsessed with two fall colors: Le Palace, a deep cherry red, and La Main Bleue, a “rich berry” hue.  These are both a little darker than I’d gone in seasons past, but I’m SO into them.  I’ve been wearing a lot of basic black lately and this adds just the right amount of polish and personality.  Plus, they glide on like a lip gloss but dry matte — and the colors stick around for a long time.  I also like that the applicator is sort of narrow, so it’s easier to prevent clown mouth.  (Haha.)

And, the last few picks are just some items from Shopbop that I may need to pull the trigger on before this epic sale is over:

+Now’s the time to stock up on boots for the season.  I LOVE these by Schutz, these by Dolce Vita, and these by Joie.

+This in the cherry red would be such a saucy holiday party dress.  Love the slightly retro vibe.  I also kind of love this for the holiday circuit — I feel like it’d be a great Thanksgiving dress if you go formal for that.

+I know we’re leaving summer behind, but I’m still head over heels for this sundress.

+Get in on the bell sleeve trend with this affordable find.

+Statement bootie! #LOVE.

+I’ve featured this dress like a trillion times, but it is SO good.

+This would make such an epic summer wedding guest dress.  Hello, COLOR.

+Fav jeans.  Get ’em while they’re on sale!
