Grid and Bear It

Wide grid prints have been all over the place lately, and I’m smitten.  It feels sophisticated, crisp, modern — a nice change of pace from the funky Tucker-type prints that have been all of the rage of late.  (Not that I’m hating on Tucker — still love that stuff.)

Absolutely LOVE.  Camilla Belle (shown last at the Michael Kors show, wearing MK) looks like such a little lady.  I’ll be getting the look this season with this affordable TopShop shift ($76)

I know I recently featured this clutcheroo (Clare Vivier, $280), but I gotta repost it to complement this dress.  YES.  You could wear with black pumps, BRIGHT flats (cobalt or coral would be amazing) OR go for the ultimate statement with these lizard-effect Alexander Wang sandals ($540):

Make sure to seal it with a BRIGHT kiss (I like YSL’s L’Orange — $32):

While we’re on the topic of color, why not test-drive the window pane print in color?  I’m HOH (head over heels) with this Marni top (on sale for $320), which I’d envision pairing with some classic cropped trousers (J. Crew, $90) or that amazing skirt I featured last week (MSGM, $178):

Finish with a pair of Sophia Websters ($695 — seriously so in love with this new designer) and the Clare Vivier duffle ($460)

Holy chic.  Another colorful option?  These satin-twill pantalons (J. Crew, $368) with a navy blouse (Joie, $198), eye-catching necklace ($35), and some cray-cray awesome Aquazzura cut-out sandals ($485):

Finish with a structured cross-body (Calvin Klein, on sale for $620):

Or, get the look in a much smaller dose with this cheerily printed Pierre Hardy tote ($895).  I’ve been on the prowl for a change-up from my Louis Vuitton Neverfull.  I’ve cherished it dearly, but I want something fresh — and I had my eye on a Goyard, but a) had no idea how expensive they are (what?! — they are like double the price of an LV!), and b) discovered that they have no structure to them…which would be annoying since I literally carry a whole house worth of junk, and imagining it all jostled around in a shapeless sac is scary.  This is perfection:

And, do we not die over this Tibi shift ($450)?

I kind of like mixing prints with these Aquazzura tootsies (amazing…no price posted, but I’m guessing based on the price points of their other footwear, they’ll set you back around $600).

This geometric clutch (Tonya Hawkes, $1,275) finishes the look with panache:

For a look on the edgier side, consider this checked blouse (Tibi, $275) with a leather skirt ($76) and a geometric necklace (Kenneth J. Lane, $128):

I like this look finished with some simple captoe flats (Yosi Samra, $70):

Finally, drool over this cozy topper (Burberry Prorsum, $2,865)

Perfect over this trompe l’oeil grid-imprint sweater (3.1 Phillip Lim, $350) with a big beaded necklace (Kenneth Jay Lane, on sale for $130), some leather skinnies (J. Brand, $298), and some laser-cut heels (Alice + Olivia, $325):

Finally, for something really bold, consider this Michael Kors jacket (the exact same one Camilla Belle is wearing in the picture above — looking OH so chic — $1,995) with black leather shorts (Thakoon, $525 — my super chic fashion designer sister rocks these and looks unbelievable in them):

Hot tamale.  Complete with black heels/sandals, and these B. Brian Atwoods are at the tippy top of my list (I like them in the cobalt/deep purplish-blue color, but they look amazing in black, too — $425):

(The Tibi Carine — $355 — would also work well.) Anyone else feeling this print?
