Fashion Forward, Wallet Wise.

I had a lot of fun putting together this post on affordable fashion finds (veuve taste on an andre budget, HA!), and thought I’d share another roundup of fashion-forward finds that are friendly on the wallet, many of which are inspired by street style looks or higher end labels.  BTW — if there are certain posts you are liking, LMK!  I love emails from my readers, and I respond to each and every one!

Pick No. 1: The Frilly Shirt

OK, this one goes without saying since I’ve featured dozens of frilly striped shirts this season (case in point: the two chic peas below), but I HAD to snag this one for a cool $22!  I love the drama of the frill accent against the staid stripes!

Pick No. 2: The Linen Striped Pant

I can’t get over this pair of linen striped pants by Johanna Ortiz ($1100), especially paired with the coordinating bustier top ($495).  I also can’t get over their pricetags.  Ugh.  I think I’ll recreate the look with these linen striped drawstring waist pants ($158) from The Reformation, or these by Michael Kors (on sale for $95) — or maybe a linen striped jumpsuit like this one from J. Crew ($118) or this one from Anthro (on sale for $110).  Or, maybe this one from J.O.A. ($110)?

Pick No. 3: The Striped Maxi

I love the label MDS Stripes — they do a lot of great midi-, ankle, and maxi-length styles (and as you know, I’m very into these lengths for summer). (P.S., MDS Stripes is the brainchild of interior designer Mark D. Sikes, whose taste I ADORE, and whose coffee table book I have spent many-a-morning swooning over.  Incidentally, the book itself is a lovely coffee table accent!)  At any rate, how great is this striped maxi of his??  Though, even on sale for $369, I’m not sure it’s realistic for my budget R.N.  Instead, I’ll recreate the look with this inexpensive $44 striped maxi skirt!  Alternately, this SEA maxi dress is a hair more affordable at $207.

Pick No. 4: The Colorful Dress

Dolce + Gabbana is known for its colorful, mosaic-style prints, and this dress is a quintessential example.  But, even on sale it rings in at $1,522.  Lucky for us, I tracked down this lookalike for a cool $138!  For a similar “La Dolce Vita” vibe, check out this $148 J. Crew dress.  Stunning.

Pick No. 5: The Tasseled Jumpsuit

I’ve probably belabored the point when it comes to how much I love Dodo Bar Or.  Even on sale, though, the price tags are a bit high.  I would really like to claim this jumpsuit (on sale for $200) as my own, but I will probably snag this $89 lookalike from J. Crew instead!

Pick No. 6: The Ric Rac Detail

New label Anna October made a name for itself with lots of ric-rac-trimmed pieces, like this sweet dress ($525) and this top ($425).  Get the ric rac look for less with this $64 find — incidentally, a great pick for Fourth of July with a pair of white skinnies!  (And P.S. — More FOJ picks here.)

Pick No. 7: The Embroidered Mule

The reign of the mule continues.  Alberta Ferreti’s embroidered mule (on sale for $555) has garnered quite the street style starlet following (see both snaps below).  Those of us keeping an eye on the bank account will delight in these $80 lookalikes.  BOOM goes the dynamite.

Pick No. 8: The Linen Dress

It feels as though The Reformation has been DOMINATING the blogosphere lately with all its on-trend dresses, especially those of the sweet, strappy linen variety, like this $178 mini.  They do such an excellent job of styling their looks, and their models are gorgeous — the one below looks like Jessica Alba!  Love the look but not the cost?  Try this $59 find from Mango!
