…and another long absence from the blog. I apologize! I have this theory that I can only (metaphorically) juggle three balls at a time really well, but there are always 6-7 balls vying for those coveted three spots. Right now, it’s been work, family, and exercise in the top three spots. So blogging, sleep, and friendship have been chilling in the background. Poor blogging, sleep, and friendship. I don’t know; maybe there is a way to manage all 7 at once but I’ve not yet found the trick.
But onto happier things: I spotted this sweet gingham dress ($138) on two gorgeous bloggerinas (Julia from Gal Meets Glam and Blair from Atlantic Pacific) and totally tripped over myself, sprinting to buy it STAT.
Um, yes. Get yours here. I’ll be wearing it to the upcoming baptism of my sweet godson (and nephew) and possibly also to Easter, which Mr. Magpie and I are hosting at our home with two of my sisters, brother-in-law, best friend, her husband (also a dear friend in his own right), and another dear friend who is almost like a sister at this point.
And, a few other gingham beauts:
+I’m also contemplating whether I need this variation in navy. Pretty epic. I like the idea of pairing it with some navy-and-white printed pumps for a little pattern-on-pattern action.
+This orange-with-black-piping style from No.21 (on sale!) would also be a lovely addition to my work wardrobe.
+I’m so in love with pretty much everything Carven, and this little ditty is no exception. (Also on sale, YAAAAS.)
And, this gingham babydoll maxi concoction has had my attention for a few days now. I mean, at first, I was like, “Woah, too much.” But then I imagined wearing it mid-summer with a deep tan and pulling off a Brigitte Bardot look — hair up, big bangs, barefoot in Provence? Mmmhmmm.
+This retro pink gingham sweater ($75) would look phenom with a crisp white pencil skirt (or a pleated white midi skirt!) for a spring office look.
+Just got back from a trip to Naples, FL and I wish I had owned this gauzy gingham tunic ($85) beforehand. So cute.
+Finally — and I know this isn’t gingham — but I was able to snag this adorable striped dress from Maison Kitsune for 50% off ($252!!) for an upcoming work presentation I have. I’d wanted to buy this, but they’d sold out in my size pretty much everywhere, and the only spots that still carried it would have taken too long to ship! Grrr, I’m so spoiled by Amazon Prime.
