We can maybe chalk it up to my East Coast roots, but I’m always drawn to a bold gingham check. And I’ve been v. excited by all of the gingham from J. Crew in particular this season (especially this maxi. It will be mine.).
My top gingham picks for this spring:
+Veronica Beard has been slaying it in her most recent seasons, and I’m dying over this pretty ruched dress ($495).
+Alexandre Birman has become one of my favorite footwear designers. This stunning gingham-accented Clarita sandal ($495) makes clear why.
+An OTS lovely from a new Aussie line I just discovered ($121), Paddo to Palmy.
+The cutest gingham flats I ever did see ($215) from new-to-me footwear line Josefinas. All of their shoes are hand-made in Portugal by “master shoemakers.” Love love love.
+Love the statement sleeves (love a dramatic sleeve…) on this gingham top from The Grove e-boutique ($88)!
+J.Crew’s gingham lace-up flats ($138) are SO fun.
+Gingham scarf ($52) — would be so cute tied around the handle of my new Jane Birkin-inspired straw bucket tote or a little crossbody like this.
+Gingham jams ($128). I realize I’ve been posting a lot of pajamas lately–maybe insight into my headspace at 37+ weeks pregnant. Also, J.Crew has a similar pair available in short format for $78.
+Those pretty gingham pumps ($118) from Banana I mentioned awhile ago–even the smallest size was too big for my midget foot (wahhhh), but one of you lovely readers mentioned you snagged a pair and they look AMAZING on you! (I see you, S.!)
+Gingham top ($49) — love the pouf on the sleeve.
And, for setting a little outdoor party table, how amazing are these Katie Kime melamine platters ($32 a pop)?! The e-boutique also carries some fun clothing, like this gingham dress.
More Gingham Goodness…
+This J.Crew maxi will unquestionably be mine this summer ($168). Can’t wait to wear it with my SpaceRocketStore straw Jane Birkin tote (I wound up going with the “small” size) for a retro-cool look.
+This Anthro dress ($158) makes me want to throw a picnic.
+Misa OTS top ($207) — love the bows at the wrist. Also love it in dress form.
+This gingham top also caught my eye (on ridic sale for 70% off! — $47) because of its unique cut.
+The Etsy store Southern Hospitality Company has some adorable monogrammed melamine platters ($30) available, similar to the Katie Kime ones above but with your initials smack dab in the middle!
+For your #mini, how adorable is this ruffled gingham one-piece swimsuit ($30)?! (You could coordinate with this chic off-the-shoulder, Brigitte Bardot-esque J. Crew suit yourself.)
+Not for the faint of heart, but this low-vee Lioness maxi in the prettiest gingham ($80) is the stuff of fashion dreams.
+This dramatic shirtdress is pricey but SO major. Pair with these pearl slides ($37!!!), a dead ringer for the $750 Miu Miu pearl slides that have been all the rage).
+Banana Republic knows what’s up ($128).
+FINALLY. This gingham bikini looks just like a Marysia!
