Channeling Rosie Assoulin + Other Miscellany.

Coming off the heels of last week’s random roundup of things I’m loving, more miscellany, including a lookalike top inspired by the darling Bradley of Luella June in her asymmetrical glory above:

+PICK NO. 1: THE SPECIAL FRAME.

I ordered this acrylic frame to house a beautiful prayer my mother-in-law sent to minimagpie on the occasion of her Baptism.  I have it sitting on the little table adjacent to the rocking chair in minimagpie’s nursery and it occurs to me that this frame would be handy for housing a whole mess of other mementos.  I might frame and display a card from my mom in one, and keep it at my bedside.

+PICK NO.2 : JULIO, SERVE THAT SCAMPI.

My scalloped plates, on sale!  (Anyone else get the reference above?  Bruno Mars HINT HINT HINT.)

+PICK NO. 3: ROSIE ASSOULIN LOOKALIKE.

+If, like me, you could not bring yourself to pony up north of $1,000 for this highly coveted Rosie Assoulin top ON SALE, shown on the uber chic Bradley of Luella June above, you will be delighted by this similar under-$100 find.  (Or, there’s a literal dupe here, but I’m usually rather allergic to copycats that are too identical…)

+PICK NO. 4: THE STATEMENT SWEATER.

Obsessed with this well-priced statement sweater for fall.  Well, it’s not a loud statement — sort of a modest statement.  (Actual statement sweater obsessions of mine have been well-documented.)

+PICK NO. 5: THE PERFECT ANY-ROOM RUG.

Love (!!!) this rug.  A great, interesting neutral with sufficient interest and contrast.

+PICK NO. 6: AN ICE-BLUE SWEATER.

One of you lovely Magpies recommended the brand Demylee for sweaters — and I am dying over this gorgeous ice blue number.

+PICK NO. 7: NEW READS.

+Grace of TheStripe is currently reading this book, and I’m going to follow suit as soon as I’m done with my current read, a novel by Elin Hilderbrand.  I’d never read one of her books before, even though I know she’s a widely-read beach read writer.  It’s likely unfortunate I’m reading her coming off the heels of tearing through this Joan Didion book, the weight and heft of which would leave even Neil DeGrasse Tyson looking like a buffoon.  (Sorry to keep mentioning Tyson — he springs to mind because of this.)  (Also, reading this recent Didion book not only reaffirms my decision to place one of her books on this list.)

+PICK NO. 8: WEAR YOUR CHINOISERIE ON YOUR SLEEVE.

Obsessing over this chinoiserie-print scarf ($48).

+PICK NO. 9: THE BEST BODY LOTION.

I have used this body lotion for the last few years straight, I think?  The best consistency and the greatest scent.  Just ordered a new bottle, in fact.  Also, love their lip balm.

+PICK NO. 10: THE LACE MINI.

This under-$100 lace dress is…amazing.  Looks so much higher end than its price tag suggests.
