Bewitching.

There was a time where I thought that pointed-toe shoes were witch-like.

That was before the advent of Sex and the City and Carrie Bradshaw’s elevation of the item to fashion icon status.

Ever since, I’ve had at least a few pointy-toed lovelies in regular rotation, even when triple platforms were all the rage.  (Remember?!  Feels like a distant memory at this point but, yes, there was a time when we were sporting them around like it was nobody’s biznass.  I even invested in a pair of YSL Tribute sandals similar to these except suede, gray, and without the t-strap, which may or may not prove to come back into fashion currency at some point in the future.  Possibly a lost cause.)  I think I’ve found my next wear-with-everything pair for work purposes (on sale for $99 — don’t mind if I do):

Love their slight edginess and their brilliant black-and-silver combo.  I’m so into silver these days — it feels so fresh.  I’m envisioning these puppies with my LRR (lather-rinse-repeat) work combo: black shades (Elizabeth + James, $185), big pearl necklace (KJL, $115), patterned blouse (Alice + Olivia, on sale for $126), full skirt ($110):

Finish with those magical tootsies and a carry-all black tote (Givenchy, $1,240) and, of course, your WSJ:

Finish with a great red mani (Essie’s Really Red, $8):

Also love these puppies with a great necklace (Fallon, on sale for $269), pair of trim trousers ($90), and a great jacket/top (Schumacher, $450):

Pair it with a red iPad case (Gucci, $305) and you’re good to go:
