Bed.

Are you familiar with D. Porthault?  Favored by the likes of Jackie O. and Coco Chanel, this luxury linen line is the epitome of bedding.  If I ever see one of the line’s prints in someone’s house, my eyebrows shoot up.  Can you blame me?  Just look at the lovely prints on these boudoir shams, for example…and then barf when you see the price tag.

I would love to buy just one as a little focal point in our bedroom at some point, but it still makes me feel slightly nauseous to spend that much money on a pillow.  You can get the look for less with these Biscuit Home shams ($55 each — phew).  Now that I’m daydreaming about my bed (thanks.), I am imagining I’m wearing one of these sweetly-colored pajama sets (on sale for $59 each):

Perfect over this dainty underpinnings ($48 for top; $39 for bottoms):

Keep these tucked into a darling lingerie bag set from Leontine Linens:

And on your bedside table (love this style from Bungalow 5 — $910)?  A beautiful lamp (swoooon — $491) and a gold bamboo-effect tray ($65) with one of my all-time favorite perfumes on top, Tocca’s Cleopatra ($68) and this gilded hairbrush ($75).  And a framed Caitlin McGauley print ($85) behind it.

I’m also not sure where this would go in the room, but I am in love with this sweet monogrammed letter box ($62):

Sweet.  And I also think these little brass animals ($10/pop) are adorable — either in a child’s room or mixed in on a well-styled bookcase:

As for the bed itself…given my recent obsession with lavender, do you not love this upholstered lilac headboard ($2,000):

I’d top it with a pile of gold pillows ($65+ each depending on size):

And a lovely lavender or coral-trimmed duvet ($200+):

Almost to the weekend!
