It’s FRIYAY!!!!!
Below, 10 things on my radar as I float into le weekend…
I’m in love with these ballet-inspired flats — they’re $100 and they majorly nail a trend first started by Valentino, with their love latch shoe collection (you can buy the Valentino version here for $790).
I don’t know what it is about this dress ($125) — the colors (love the hints of marigold!)? The fact that it looks like something from a higher-end designer (Marni or Oscar de la Renta, IMO)? The elegant neckline? The promise of spring? But I need it.
Our kitchen stools are on their last legs right now, and I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement set to put at our kitchen island. I have long loved these Riviera stools (navy on sale for $199 a pop; also love the cheeriness of the yellow or red ones, $229, but the white ones are a class act) from Serena + Lily. They add such a coastal breeziness to a room, as evidenced by the first pic below, but they just do not jive with the more modern aesthetic of our kitchen area.
So I turned for alternative inspo, aka Pinterest. I loved the Scandi freshness of those wood dip dyed backless stools in the pic below, and scouted these amazing ones for $145/pop at Overstock. But I do so much work sitting at our island that I knew having a backless stool was no bueno.
But aren’t they FAB?! AHHH I die over them. Finally, I turned to my comfort zone: upholstered stools. Mr. Magpie is so-so on the concept because I tend to be a wee bit heavy handed with upholstered goods — I’m the type who would want an upholstered bench to serve as a coffee table, next to two upholstered x-benches, alongside a tufted couch. All the fabrics!!! He’s more disciplined about introducing different textures into the mix.
But, don’t you love the warmth the barstools in the above snaps afford these kitchens?! I’m convinced it’s the right move, and am convinced that these Erin barstools ($265 each) from One King’s Lane in delightful salmon pink would make a superb fit…we shall see. P.S. The stools are available in other colors, too, including this sharp hunter green.
As you may have gathered from this post, shaped straw/wicker bags are very a la mode these days. (Thank you, Jane Birkin.) I loveeee these street style snaps showcasing the trend:
I love the Grace Kelly throwback vibe of this structured little straw bag — a steal at $78! Would look so BEYOND with a breezy blue sundress like this Vivetta (obsessed) or this high-fashion budget buy ($59).
P.S. — The Cult Gaia bag shown in the second snap was something of an IT bag last season, and continues to sell out super fast, but I found a few available here ($88). Love the way it’s styled in the above pic with this MDS Stripes button-front skirt.
And SPEAKING of striped skirts, if the MDS Stripes skirt is not in your budget ($695), never fear: J. Crew has an absolutely DARLING bow-waist skirt available for $118, and I cannot wait to wear it all summer long.
You might also check out this $145 striped skirt (love the navy!), or this maj budget buy ($22).
I can’t say no to a denim shirt. I have like 23 varying styles — oversized button-downs, off-the-shoulder styles, frill-sleeved ones, etc. But this one with its sweet Brigitte Bardot-esque wrist ties ($69) must join le collection.
I mentioned these Venessa Arizaga crochet ball-drop earrings ($110) awhile ago, and I’m still smitten (SO cute with a dress like this or a top like this) —
— BUT I found an epic set of crocheted ball drop earrings for an affordable $32/pop from Etsy storefront SandyCraftUK and died! DONE DEAL. Love love love the pastel hues, and what a STEAL!
I love a good robe, and I’ve been eyeballing the adorable prints from Marigot Collection for some time. I was SO excited to find that a bunch of them are on sale for $99 here, here, and here! (I love you, Amazon.)
Dodo Bar Or makes the COOLEST pieces RN — I love this tasseled, patterned romper ($390). I think that, along with Vivetta, it’s one of the hottest lines out there. (PSSST — you can also get the look for less with this dress, which is sort of the spitting image of the romper below, for well below the DBO price.)
I am pretty sparing on the sneakers-with-outfits trend — the closest I’ll get is with my gray Supergas, which I like to pair with leggings/jeans/overalls or a striped dress — but, I have to say, these Nike Roshe nude sneaks turned my head ($99).
P.S. — Don’t forget that I’m constantly updating LeShop with new finds!
P.P.S. — I need this.
